Love the updates!!! We enjoy TH also, the early breakfasts are just completely awesome. I LOVE going into the parks early and seeing them empty!
One question....DC, was the water cold? We have been to Typhoon Lagoon and DH swam with the sharks, and the water there was cold, so I didn't do it, since I HATE cold water!!! Yes, I'm a FL girl thru and thru!! LOL
The water in the dolphin area was cold, but you got used to it pretty quickly. Everywhere else the water was warm.
Empty parks are just the best
Limiting the number of people allowed into DC may sell my DH for sure...plus it looks like an awesome day!
T-Rex is one of our favorites! For DH and DS it is a required restaurant! And I simply adore Tusker House! It has to be one of the best breakfast buffets at DW! I haven't tried Crystal Palace yet but after lunch this last trip, I may give it a try. Plus getting into parks before everyone else is A.W.E.S.O.M.E.!!!!!
I liked the food at T-rex and wouldn't mind going back. I hope the waiter we had realizes that T-rex is not the place for him and moves on, but otherwise it was good. I liked all of the menu choices but there are so many places at DTD I really want to try so I doubt we'll go back unless Caitlin insists.
That is good that they limit the crowds at DC!

I think the secret is out though, I have been trying for over a month and can't get a breakfast there for Sept. When we go in Sept. 2012 I will be sure and book it first thing at 180 days.
I ended up finding an adr right before our trip. I was going to skip it this trip b/c I wanted to try Yak and Yeti, but then I decided we just had to go back. I checked the site and there was an 8:05 adr.
People have caught on and it is much harder to get in there than it used to be. It is one of those you need to do on 180 days out or spend all day stalking the dining website as your date approaches.
Loved all the pictures! I wanted to try Tusker House on our last trip but could never get in. Guess that gives me yet another reason to go back!
Caitlin's giraffe print dress is adorable! I had thought about making us a reservation at T-Rex during our last trip but decided against it. I have to say, after your review, I'm glad we didn't go there! Can't wait to hear about y'alls day in AK!
T-rex was loud. I am glad we wanted until Caitlin was 6, if she had been younger I think the noise would have bothered her. I always read reviews and it says it's loud, but you can't imagine until you are actually there. It is LOUD! As long as you don't plan to talk to your family it is okay.
TH is awesome! The food is good and I love the atmosphere. I wish I was there right now.
Great updates! DC really does look like a nice place to relax and take it easy, I definitely hope to go there someday. And I LOVE your DD's dresses, especially the giraffe print one, it's so cute!! Those pictures you took of the animals at AKL are amazing too, the little baby ducks are adorable
DC is so relaxing and a perfect midweek break. There is minimal walking and you are just relaxed. No rushing around or running from one attraction to the next.
I don't know what it is about Disney ducklings. There are just so adorable.
Caitlin had a dress phase before our trip. When I was buying her summer clothes all she wanted was dresses. It makes getting dressed very easy and I think she looks adorable in dresses so I bought her tons of dresses for the summer. She is now on a dress/ sparkly clothes kick. She wants everything to be shiny and sparkly. I am not looking forward to school shopping with her next month. She wants to go to Justice and get pretty clothes. Too bad a pretty sparkly T-shirt there costs like $25. I liked it better when she had no opinions on clothes.
T Rex looks like a fun place to eat. I can't wait to go there, as soon as I'm sure my boys won't be scared of eating with giant dinosaurs.
Seeing all the animals with Caitlin looks like fun. She looks happy in the picture with the flamingos.
I've never made it to rope drop, much less a pre-opening ADR. AK looks really cool all empty, though.

We are always up early so we get to the parks early. We seem to miss all the night time stuff though. I am hoping that will change a bit when Caitlin gets older though.

I was on a mission to get to Ghiradelli's. I gave up so many of my must dos this trip, I wasn't missing this one.
It was so good!
The waiter at T-rex was awful. He did refill our drinks and come around once in awhile, but he just looked so annoyed at being there. He must have just started and realized he hates T-rex. I think I would be miserable working there too, but I think I could fake my happiness a bit better.

I love your DH's pictures of the stingrays and sharks. I think it would be fun to swim with the rays. The sharks were HUGE! I had envisioned little reef sharks, but those are big! I can see why your DH was surprised when he saw THAT in the water.
I could imagine doing something like that when my DH annoys me - very devious.
The presentation of the appetizer sampler at T-rex is so cute. I'm glad you got your gift card situation straightened out.

I think I am going to have to give the Tusker House breakfast another try. Your food looks really yummy and your character pictures are very nice. I just have to remember to get the first rather than the last breakfast seating!
We went to TH last year too and while it was good, it was amazing this year. It is one restaurant that actually improved from last year.
The sampler was very good and what I tried off DH and Caitlin's plate were good too. I really love their menu options, but I just don't see use going back. Too many other places to try.
DH and I get in a bit of an arguement later in the week. I found the perfect Disney payback though.

I know it's so childish, but DH was getting on my nerves and I knew he would hate listening to Caitlin use that little drum. As soon as he saw it he asked me why I would let her buy it.
I love TH tater tots. Why can't CM be as good? How can tater tots taste so different?
Tusker House looks so good, but I can't bring myself to go there since I know how good Boma breakfast is.

Everyone says the night vision goggles are worth it- sometime I'm going to check those out!
We did the RD stampede in MK and then I remembered why I like 8am adrs so much.

The baby ducks were SO cute. I like that there are so many different animals on property and you see different things every time.
We have never been to T-Rex. All of the pictures of your food looked delicious! We may have to try it next time. Your ice cream looked really good, and I am not a big ice cream person.
We have never been to Tusker House either, and that bothers me because I have tried to get an ADR and it never happened. We ended up going to CP, which I was really happy with, but my goal is to make it to Tusker House next time.
The ducklings were so cute. Every trip I come home with about 30 duckling pictures. I think I have more pictures of ducklings than I do with pictures of me in them.
TH and CP are my favorites. TH is getting harder to get into b/c everyone knows how good it is now. Slots seem to open up as trips get closer though. You have to try it one day.
The food was good at T-rex but it isn't a must do for us. Glad we tried it, but I want to try something else in DTD next time.
