What exactly DID you do at Disney? May 2011 TR (TR link pg 44)

I would stick with POP too especially since it is such a short, one night stay! I have never been to POP but it is actualyl on my "to-do" list because it just looks neat. And I have heard good things about the food court.

I find it so hard to pack clothes for a cruise! I am never satisfied with what I have!

Costumes and decisions! Ugh!! If it were me I would be doing the Halloween t-shirt thing but that is only because it is the easy route!!

I have had such a hard time packing. I am giving up until Monday. Maybe it will come to me next week. Nothing I have seems to fit what I want it to be.

I am actually looking foward to Pop. I would love if DH loved it so I don't have to pay so much for a resort in the future.

I think you are smart to stick with Pop. It is only a night and you won't be in the room much. The Poly was always our favorite deluxe (well, it was until we stayed at the AKL), but for one night, it just is not worth it.

Have you gone to the cruise boards about clothes for the trip? There are a lot of helpful hints there I am told.

I have been checking the cruise boards. I think I have an idea of what I need. I just need to get organized.

I need to save the Poly for at least a few nights. It wouldn't be right to stay there and not see Wishes from the beach or be able to eat at Kona.

Since you are taking a shorter cruise you don't need to worry about "dressing up" as there is no formal night. The main rule is no shorts or jeans in the dining room and even then they don't really enforce that.

The dress code is "cruise casual".

For men the basic staples for the dining room are a pair of khaki's/dockers and a nice shirt (polo, button-up, etc).

For women, a casual dress, skirt, nice pants and a top. Nothing too dressy if you don't want.

If you are going to eat at Palo you will need formal clothing.

Nothing fancy but not what you would wear slumming around the house.

Remember room service is free but take some singles to tip the attendant who delivers it.

If you don't want to eat in the dining room one night there are lots of options up on the pool deck and there is the buffet.

Thanks for the tips:thumbsup2 Problem is I don't have much that isn't slumming around clothes. I go from jeans everyday to scrubs for work. I really need to upgrade my wardrobe.

I'm glad you mentioned the singles too. Add that to the list of things I need.

add me to the list of jealous!

I am starting to get a bit nervous. Can't wait until all the planning is over and we are on the ship.

Oh wow! I would have never thought about the clothes. I live in my shorts or jeans and polo style shirts. I would need a whole new wardrobe to go on a cruise. :rotfl:

I can't believe you go in just 8 days. How exciting!!!

I do need new wardrobe. I live in jeans and tshirts and then wear scrubs at work. I have tons of nice black shirts and nice black skirts but I can't wear those together. Plus I want my clothes to coordinate with Caitlins and everything she has is pink. It has been hard to find many adult pink shirts that are nice looking.

Today is Caitlin’s 7th birthday. I thought I would steal that cute idea that has been going around and do a little trip down memory lane. Since it is almost Halloween I figured I would use the past Halloween pictures too.
A star is born on Oct. 14,2004 (Ignore the dates on some that say 98, I have no idea why they say that)

She was only 2 weeks old on her first Halloween so she was a bunny

Age 4 – Bumblebee the transformer
She decided in preschool she didn’t like wearing a mask so I had to run out on Halloween and get another costume- Cinderella (she wore her hair up but I don’t have a better picture)

Age 5 Ariel I can’t find any pictures. I bought her costume from the Disney store and it was an awful design . Maybe that is why I don’t have any?
Plus she had gotten to that stage where most pictures had one of these faces

This year she is going to be a vampire. We just got her costume and I think she looks pretty cute for a vampire.

I feel a bit bad b/c we aren’t having any type of party since we are going on the cruise next week. I did tell her when we booked the cruise it would be in the place of a party but she has been bugging me lately. I feel bad but then I remember she is 7 and going on a cruise. I am almost 30 and have never been on one.

DH and I will take her out to dinner wherever she wants to go. Guess where we are going? That’s right, she is her father’s daughter. We are going to Wendys.:headache::confused3
Less than a week to go! Have a great weekend everyone!

Happy Birthday Caitlin!!! :bday:party:

Love the trip down memory lane. She's so cute! Looks like she hasn't changed much...except for the whole getting older thing.

I can't believe she wants her birthday dinner at Wendy's. I mean, Wendy's is good & all, but for a birthday dinner? :confused3 Oh well, whatever makes her happy, right?

Y'all are going to have so much fun on the cruise!

Happy 7th Birthday, Caitlin. How about a "smile" on your birthday/halloween picture this year. :) I remember those years all too well.

And, as for Wendy's, our youngest (now 23) would still pick McDonald's for his birthday dinner. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

:bday: HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CAITLIN! party:

What a cute baby and what a beautiful young lady she has turned into! Congrats to the whole family!

Loving your walk down memory lane! They grow up way too quickly! It is hard to believe I am plannign a Sweet 16 in a few months!Madison was begging for Wendy's last night. For her 7th birthday we let her choose where she wanted to go. She chose.....are you ready? This is bad!! :lmao:.............................................

Hooters. Yes, you read that correctly. She thought there would be lots of owls to "play" with....:rolleyes1 She gets embarressed by this story now but we thought it was hilarious!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CAITLIN!!!!!!!!!!!! party: :bday: party:

Happy Birthday Caitlin!!!

I guess you could at least say she won't break the bank with choices like Wendy's.

She has had so many cute costumes. I love the Minnie Mouse! Just adorable! What wonderful pictures and a great way to celebrate a birthday!

Tink, that story is hysterical and I am sure now incredible embarrassing.

I tried my hardest to talk up other restaurants but Wendy's won over. I wish we could have gone anywhere that had options besides burgers and chicken.

We are so close. I am finishing up packing and I am so stressed that I am going to forget something.

I would love a smile in a picture. I doubt that will happen anytime soon.

At least DH and DD aren't the only ones who pick fast food.

:bday: HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CAITLIN! party:

Thank you. I thought she was a very cute baby:goodvibes I miss those days, they really flew by.:sad2:

It seems like every year is passing quicker and quicker. Before I know it I'll be planning her 16th bday trip to Wendy's.

Love the Hooters story.

Her Minnie Mouse costume was my favorite:lovestruc

I think our total dinner cost was $15 including dessert. She didn't even want a cake or ice cream cake, just a Frosty. Who picks a Frosty over a bday cake?

Hey, as long as she was happy with her Wendy's bday dinner, that's all that matters. I say enjoy it now, because once she hits those teen years, I'm sure she'll want to drain you on her bdays. :lmao:

I always get stressed out about forgetting something, too. Just don't forget your travel documents. Anything else can be forgotten & replaced. :thumbsup2

Hope y'all have a safe and wonderful vacation!

Got caught up just in time to realize that you are leaving on your trip! Hope you have a fabulous time.

Loved all the pictures of Caitlin. It is fun to see the progression between each picture.

Your ticker says 1 day until your cruise so I just wanted to stop by and wish you a happy trip filled with lots of pixie dust!!

I look forward to hearing all about it!

Thanks everyone! We got home yesterday and we were all completely exhausted! I am uploading my photos now and hope to share them soon. The cruise was great (although the sun decided not to come out much:sad2:) If you are thinking of trying the cruise, DO IT!!! We had some not so magical moments of course, but overall we loved it and can't wait to go on another.

What a sweet trip down memory lane! How cute all those costumes and get-ups are :)
