Our sons will be 12 and 13 (first cruise). They can't wait to see the Oceaneer Lab...so do these same counselers come on to the island and continue with activities with the kids? Or will they pretty much stay with us on that day? The only thing I am really planning on purchasing is parasailing for our 16DS. So what about the 12 and 13 yr. olds? thanks.

I'm assuming that your 13 year old is going to be staying "down" and age group and going to the lab? The normal lab age is 10-12 for the older group, but I have never heard an instance where a 13 year old was told they couldn't stay with the younger kids. There are several open threads on this if you have questions, or just ask, and we'll try to help.

Anyway, answering your original question. On Castaway Cay, there is a kids area on the island (Scuttle's Cove). The ship's counselors staff it. They offer programming something like 9-3:30. It will include things like:
- sand castle contest
- scavenger hunt
- water battle
- lunch at Cookies
- Excursion at Monstro's Dig site

Typical navigators are listed at ********************** and will show the options for your age group. My son absolutely loved the programming at Scuttles and wouldn't come out all day! The only thing they won't do is take the kids swimming.

The teens have a teen beach on CC and I think it's staffed by counselors who offer semi-structured activities as well.

Thanks Lisa, thats exactly what I was looking for! It sounds like a blast for them. Yes, my 13DS will be going to the Lab, I checked with the rep. taking our reservations and she said that was ok. thanks again!
