There is a clock at ALL FastPass rides. But my point was that you can't go into a day with a detailed plan and expect to be able to rigidly stick to that plan.
For example, it sounds great to plan to start MGM by getting a FastPass for RnR, use the Standby line for ToT, and then redeem the RnR Fastpass immediately thereafter. The problem is your FP return time may still be 30 minutes away after riding ToT.
Similarly, a guest may be faced with a 45 minute Standby line vs. a 90 minute FP return time. The immediate response for some may be "I'll be on the other side of the park in 90 minutes--I'd rather just wait in line for 45." While that's still a valid approach, some folks may not realize how much you can really accomplish in that time, only to later circle back and redeem the FastPass.
We usually travel when it's slower, and almost never wait more than 15 minutes in line for a FastPass ride. There's always something else to do while waiting for the return time, even if it means walking half-way across the park to get back to the FP ride.
