Waiting for after Thanksgiving for the Christmas holiday season to start? :confused3
Now it seems to me that right after Halloween all the decorations go up, the Christmas music starts and the commercials hit the T.V.!!
Now I'm going to show my age here but, when I was growing up we couldn't wait for the day after Thanksgiving to go downtown and wait for the parade and have Santa make his appearance either by fire truck or by horse and carriage. Then we knew it was Christmas season!!!
Now retailers can't wait for after Halloween to make a buck and I don't think there will be any black Friday that we know of. It will all be one big shopping spree after Halloween!!!

I agree. It's so sad. However, because Christmas is shoved down our throats so soon it makes me appreciate Thanksgiving so much more. I feel like I have to cling to Thanksgiving because it tends to be forgotten.

I know what you mean. The Christmas decorations were in the stores at the beginning of October, that is just way too soon. I wonder if the stores are having such a bad year that they are hoping to get the Christmas stuff out early to increase overall sales? It used to be that the town I grew up in wouldn't turn on any Christmas lights downtown until December 1st now everyone has them on in November, before Thanksgiving.

I guess I'll be the one to say that I like it. I happen to love the Christmas season. I'm very happy to have it last longer. I adore Christmas music and love seeing the decorations go up early. Sorry!

i love Christmas, but I agree it's starting earlier every year. This past Sat. at our local Mall, Santa has already arrived!

I'll have to admit that last year I was a little dumb-founded when the city Christmas tree was pulled out on November 1st. The lamp post decor was right there too.

So it's the 9th, the tree and decorations haven't made an appearance and I am starting to get a bit antsy. Now Santa has come and gone. His house was downtown on October 25th and they took it down on Monday. I am sure he was needed at the North Pole for a big elf crisis.

There's a radio station here that has started playing christmas music on November 1st... :earseek:

As depressing as my life has been lately I like the Christmas music, lights, so on. It helps me to cheer up. Glad it is out there.

Christmas = Money in our society, so that's why we're seeing more and more of it each year, and will continue to do so until the "product gets oversold".
