What essentials do I need for a 5 month old in the parks?

First time traveling to the world with a baby. Do I need to take an umbrella stroller or full size? Baby carrier? Anything else really important? I will have 2 older children also who know Disney pretty well.

We rented a city mini gt and it was the absolutely best. It FULLY reclined. We hooked on a fan(essential!), had a bit sunshade and he easily napped in there. I also had a baby carrier but even though it was a mesh one, it still was hot and there were limits to places I could bring it. I brought it on the safari though, and in line. (he was 5 months at the time)

He was EBF at that point so I had a couple thin aden and anais lightweight blankets to cover him. (though I did do a lot of nursing without a cover because it was just easier and in many respects more demure in that I didn't have a baby pulling the cover off! Oh, the blankets also helped with the stroller blocking some light or excitement.

A big hat was also essential, as was sunscreen, diapers, and wipes. It really is the best age to go because they are so portable at that age and can nap on the go. No messing with baby food or anything. Older babies are a bit more challenging.

My son at that age (and still now at 22 months) LOVED the characters-particularly winnie the pooh and friends. He napped through some character meals in his car seat (they had a sling to put it)

I think pushing an umbrella stroller around Disney sounds like pure torture. They are so low, and your back would be killing you. (And I say this as a short person all of 5'2").

We brought our City Mini stroller and it is awesome. It reclines so our son was able to sleep in it and it just maneuvers really well through the parks.

We did bring our Ergo baby carrier and it came in very handy in ride lines, and just swapping between that and the stroller.

We also have two older kids who go annually, so just prepare your older kids to take it a little slower with the baby. Definitely utilize the rider swap option on the rides.
