:D We're going in (drum roll please!) two weeks (well almost-two weeks and a day!) and Im going crazy with anticipation- Ive havent been since I was 7, so I guess you could call me a newbie! :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:
Ive come to the stage when I dont know what else I can plan in advance- Any last minute tips and advice? Thanx!:D :)

I'm definitely not a newbie and I'm literally crazy with the anticipation of leaving tomorrow night. I forced myself to eat breakfast but my stomach was doing somersaults, as if saying "no time to eat, we have to go to WDW".:D

I hope you (and I) have a great trip!:Pinkbounc

Hey, it's never too early to start packing!:D

Not if the clothes aren't clean yet! :jester: I must get busy.:Pinkbounc

You didn't say whether you have kids, but whether or not, get a medicine/first aid kit together... include something for all the common ailments, plus bandaids, something for cuts, something for allergies, etc. This always takes longer than I anticipated, because I'm usually out of something I need, or something I have is in a glass bottle, etc. If you start early it will save a last minute run to the store.

Also, double check all of those ressies one more time against the calendar. I am a very organized person, but I am also a busy mother of three who thinks she can multi task better than she actually can. I've left for trips and then realized that I didn't remember which brand of rental car I had reserved, forgotten to reserve two nights' hotel, and several other things that are too embarrassing to share here.

I like to organize whatever I will be carrying with me in the parks -film, camera, video, sunscreen, bandaids, sunglasses, contact solution, aspirin, etc.

I start checking the weather channel to see what our forecast will look like.

What a great time to go - have a fun trip!!!

Pam

Start packing (you too chb!), then the night before, remove 3 articles of clothing from your suitcase. Unless you're going on a second honeymoon and you want your mate to relive those days when you first fell in love, a few t shirts, some shorts, bathing suit and rain gear, and a soft not easily wrinkled clingy dress or skirt and comfortable shoes or sandals you've worn before, will suffice. I'm a habitual over packer and the first time I went to WDW I wore about 1/4 of the outfits I took. We were all over the place and I didnt have the time for multiple costume changes.;)

If you're driving, don't make yourself crazy, there's a Walmart not too far away where you can get anything (including cheaper Disney T-shirts).

We always made lunch our major meal and did pizza, salads or burgers our dinner. It really saved $$$. And don't be embarrassed to share meals with children or light eating adults, some of the portions are huge and such a waste since you're hardly going to carry around a doggie bag in WDW.

Most of all, be prepared to not follow your plans if you find something you'd rather do. Take the time to look at your surroundings. But do rise early if you can, to get to the parks. If you get on your "must rides" first you can then wander and look at details.

Enjoy, Enjoy, Enjoy!

Oh, yeah, the shoes. If the shoes you plan to wear are not well broken in, start wearing them all the time now.

And also, if you are staying on site, do you REALLY understand the transportation yet? If not, comb through the old posts to figure out where your hotel is in order of bus or other stops, etc. That's the thing that's hardest for me to get a handle on. (E.g. the monorail runs in this direction, so at Poly, you're the first (or last) to be picked up (at night/in the morning), etc.)

:D Great advice! Thank you very much everyone, esp about the first aid kit and the transport- we're staying offsite on I.Drive so i'll start looking for maps etc :bounce:   :Pinkbounc :earseek:

I keep thinking of more things. Check EVERYTHING you need which relates to your camera ... enough film?...extra batteries? (that's where my DH always trips up).

Also, now is the time to put that packing list on the computer, so you will have it for all the future trips to come.

And if you plan to send postcards, buy postcard stamps. Do you have all the addresses handy (unless you know them by memory)? If you want to be SUPER organized you could make address labels on the computer for all the post card recipients.

Do you tip housekeeping? If so, prepare envelopes containing whatever amount you want to tip for each day of your trip.

Also, do you have enough one dollar bills? I always get quite a few of them before trips for tips.
