What else is there to do near Walt Disney World besides the Parks?

Hi,
I am interested in going to Disney World for at least 2 weeks. What else besides the Parks is there to do in that area. I don't think we are going to the Parks every day.

And how much do you pay for a pass to all of the parks for ages 10 and up. I am going to go to the Disney website to look around but does anyone know where some real bargains are?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

We absloutely fell in love with Cocoa Beach the last time we were out. And there's always all those other parks, but that could get expensive on a daily basis. I can't help you with prices.

There are tons and tons of things to do in Florida though...lots of Historic areas, lots of shopping, lots of dinner clubs and just plain fun places.

I would say do a search on Florida Tourism and order the book, that will get you coupons and ideas! :)

Have a great trip!

Outlet Malls, Flea Markets, Minture Gulf, Daynonta Beach.

Did mention outlet malls and Flea markets I love to shop. They have dinner shows. Just go down International drive you see all kinds of things to do there.:p

You will not have a problem found something to do.

Are you kidding? There is SO much to do.

Try the Space Center and Sea World and Universal obviously for three.

One place we LOVE to go to (we're so square) is over on the west coast, to visit Weekie Watchie with its Mermaid Show and Bird Shows. However, with Animal Kingdom now having bird shows, not sure if we will do Weekie Watchie this time down (have done it twice before). However, it is a peaceful, relaxing change from WDW.

Outlet shopping, I agree, ranks up there in things to do too.

Two weeks is great. One year when we went down there, I wish I remember where it was, someplace in Kissemmi, but we took one of those airboats on a river somewhere into a bird sanctuary. We drove the boat ourselves, we were the only three on it. It was like the "old Florida".

Lots to do. Investigate. Have fun. Take time to relax also, even if is just to enjoy the hotel pool and/or hot tub!

:D

Why not go to Downtown Disney and do some shopping? There's a huge World of Disney store there as well as other Disney related stores. Then, make your way over to Dowtown Disney West Side and do some more shopping at non-Disney related stores. There are a lot of good restuarants there, too, such as Wolfgang Puck's. Oh yeah, Downtown Disney also has the Rainforest Cafe. Great theming and great food. After shopping, you can hang out at Pleasure Island and go to all of the clubs. I love the comedy club there. Have a great time!

We were in Florida last summer from June 25th thru July 17th and spent the majority of the time in Orlando. But we did go to Tampa for a couple of nights and drove down to Key West. We always try to go to the Cape. But while in the Orlando area we did the WDW thing and then also went to Universal, played miniature golf, went to Typhoon Lagoon, Outlet malls (did that more than once) Went to the movie at Downtown Disney (saw Pirates of the Caribbean while there). Previously years we had gone to Cypress Gardens (I really liked that place). Have a great time planning your trip and have fun while there.

St. Augustine is a great side trip also.....has the oldest fort in America!
