I just noticed that you have two college age kids. What are their interests?

In addition to what was mentioned above, they might be interested in Peterson Automotive Museum, The Academy of Motion Pictures Museum, The Grammy Museum,
They might like hiking to the Hollywood sign
If they are interested in sports, SoFi Stadium gives tours, as does Intuit Dome and Dodger Stadium.

In general, Hollywood Blvd is pretty grungy.

There are some iconic music venues in the area. You might look to see if anyone of interest is performing while you are in town.

@LKing I totally forgot about the Grammy Museum. That place is absolutely fantastic.

We always drive up to Six Flags Magic Mountain for roller coaster riding one day! We get there at opening, get the cut the line pass, then drive back to Anaheim, eat dinner and chill for an hour, then do Disneyland/CA until closing.

Also consider Knotts and Universal Studios.
