What else do you do while there on a Disney vacation?

I just noticed that you have two college age kids. What are their interests?

In addition to what was mentioned above, they might be interested in Peterson Automotive Museum, The Academy of Motion Pictures Museum, The Grammy Museum,
They might like hiking to the Hollywood sign
If they are interested in sports, SoFi Stadium gives tours, as does Intuit Dome and Dodger Stadium.

In general, Hollywood Blvd is pretty grungy.

There are some iconic music venues in the area. You might look to see if anyone of interest is performing while you are in town.

We always drive up to Six Flags Magic Mountain for roller coaster riding one day! We get there at opening, get the cut the line pass, then drive back to Anaheim, eat dinner and chill for an hour, then do Disneyland/CA until closing.

Also consider Knotts and Universal Studios.

Every year we try to do something outside of Disney.

One year we did the Griffith Observatory, rode the carousel (where Walt would take his daughters and where he dreamt up DLR) and then went to the Farmers Market.

One time we went to the Petersen Automotive Museum. I am not into cars (none of us are) but it was incredible. Seriously recommend it if you like history or museums. Then the Farmers Market ( we always end up at the Farmers Market!)

One Halloween time we went to El Capitán for The Nightmare Before Christmas 4D.

There is so much to do in the area!
