What DVC perks do you see coming back first?

But which perks, beyond the ones we really want, do you think will actually come back? The increase in capacity makes me think APs are on the way. I don’t know if it’ll be first. Like I said, I also don’t see a problem with TOTW. What would prevent that from returning?

With out fireworks and lower occupancy in the lounge, it may not be profitable enough for Disney to bring back workers to staff it.

Remember, while TOTWL is part of DVC, the workers are employees of Disney and they are in charge of that aspect of running the actual lounge.

TOTWL! We are finally staying at BLT in July and I would love to finally get to try that 7 layer cake (had planned on getting it at the Wave, but now that's closing during our stay too). I'm cautiously optimistic that fireworks will be back by then too, at least in some capacity.

Call it a hunch but i predict TOTW reopens about the Same time as The Wave reopening. I may be mistaken but I think the food items at TOWL come from The Wave kitchen.

Free tickets to the park. 🤪. I guess not. That ended December 31 1999. Look for them removing benefits rather than adding more. Availability is a nightmare with excess points and pent up demand. They’re taking away Magical Express at the end of the year. I disagree with getting rid of the borrowing 50% rule. They should keep that for at least another year till the point surplus has leveled off.

I can see them getting rid of some perks and adding others. If you don’t differentiate direct from resale, then there is absolutely no incentive to buy direct. I can see them always thinking of ways to freshen up the perks. Granted, they may cheap, cost effective perks that are introduced, but I have to believe there will always be something enticing enough to make you think about going Disney direct.

we had free parking at resort and parks. Just got back. ( edited for a typo)

hoping for fireworks in July too at least for the fourth, but I'm hearing that it's most likely not happening this year, and if it does it will be 4th only and not announced, due to covid restrictions. which to me, is silly, considering the park occupancy is down, and you can enforce social distance, or require vaccines to enter the parks, I have read they are looking at that option in CA. also have one night booked at BLT. I'll cancel the min I hear no fireworks.

Do think some sort of AP discount but not until early next year. Expect at least a 10% overall pass increase if not more, probably 15% as demand will warrant it...with a lessor discount that currently offered to DVC members

Difficult to grab an ADR now. Until the restaurants are fully staffed, reopened to capacity, no need to offer TIW. Maybe not even then, as based upon the UK offer for next year, the traditional FDP appears to be on hold at best

I want to see free resort parking maintained for members staying on points.

Don’t look at it as swinging for the fences but, fat chance...

Would be nice to see members receive a 10% dining discount on all food & non-alcoholic beverages, including CS venues.

Perhaps a higher discount on all special tours/boat rentals once they are re-offered.
Parking is not free for DVC members, we pay for its maintenance with the dues. That's why we don't pay it (again) when staying at the resort, it's not a perk

I can understand them still removing some perks impacted by COVID, but I don’t understand why they can’t bring back TIW. What’s that have to do with COVID? It’s a straight discount.

free passes ended in Dec 1999, but if you borrowed your 2000 points to use before Dec 31 1999 they included passes. I loupe hole that DVD was not so happy about.

Because they can not yet accommodate as many people in the sit down restaurants. So, people would be buying to use at TS and then be shut out.

I think until they have all places back open and TS capacity back, it won't even be an option But, I think I read the rumor is that Disney has decided to discontinue anyway.

darn, I’ve never had TIW but I was going to buy it. Maybe they could just come out with an adult beverage card 🙂

AP discount (I never needed them before because I am a CM but our passes have been clocked all year with no end in sight). I also liked the after hours parties. My favorite perk EVER is the DVC lounge in Epcot, I will miss that next year. To me, it was the most fair because it was always open, vs. the parties that had to coincide with a planned trip if you got lucky.

Looking at limited availability this year, I support the limit on 50% of borrowed points.
