What DS's school said about his Disney absence...

Awesome! :thumbsup2

We just took DS out of school in September for eight actual school days (he is a HS senior), without problem. :goodvibes

We had a permission form to fill out, the Principal, Attendance Officer, and all teachers had to sign it, and he had to have all "assigned and missed work" completed before return and be "test ready" for one class.

He is in HS now, but we have taken him on vacation during the school year several years, and the procedure has always been the same at his school system (no matter what grade/building he is in). I feel blessed to live in a District that trusts the parents to make judgements/choices for their children! :)

These are all good tips to know. :-) My oldest is only 3 right now, but will start preschool next year, and we might take him out for our first family trip to WDW next Dec. We are hesitant cause he is delayed (he is testing for special services right now), but I work with him a lot, so I'm hoping his school will understand, we are waiting to finalize plans to see where we end up sending him to school next year. That is great your school was so understanding, may I ask if it is public or private school and if you all think that makes a difference (we are still debating which type our kids will go to)?
