What don't you get that everyone else seems to get?

We all know that just because MJ was found innocent doesn't mean it's true- remember OJ folks??

Thats true but OJ was aquitted in one trial and found guilt in the civil trial. With MJ, criminal charges were dropped and no trial ever took place. He then was found innocent in two seperate civilian trials brought on by the same trial lawyer. In my view it was all about money and nothing else.

In the 80's I was not a big MJ fan. I thought he was too strange for me and his music was just ok. However, I was really looking forward to his comeback tour and new music. I started liking a lot of 80's music that I didn't back then. We were unable to see EO on our last visit as one in our group hated him and refused so we found other things to do instead. I'll have to catch in next visit if its still playing.

But Space Mountain is just fast, smooth and a real thrill. Its visually stimulating at the same time with stars and such. Not your usual coaster.

In All the times I have been on Space Mountain, My mouth and my Eyes are slammed shut so tight :headache:, I have never even seen the INSIDE of that ride!!

I love  the Tiki Room!! The song is my Ring Tone on my Cell phone!! It makes me smile!! And miss a lot of calls!! Be cause I want to hear all the song!!

We saw on Diners Drive-Ins and Dives, In San Diego, there is a working movie studio, that had a "Killer, That's right on the Money" Monte Cristo. We were in San Diego a month later to try the Monte Cristo, It was made with french toast, redipped in the french toast batter deep fried!! It was good!! Not greasy at all!! Lightly powered sugered, served with raspberry jam.

Stu Segall Productions it is San Diego's only working Movie Studio.

Tarzan's Treehouse! Bring back the Swiss Family Robinson!

I don't get turkey legs either.

Or the holiday overlay on the Haunted Mansion.

That's kind of it. All the bad food and hokey rides are, somehow, what make it magical for me :rotfl:

Tracy

People celebrating the a child molestor and lining up to take thir children to see movie with him. Death does not erase the horror of one's life.

For me, going to see Captain EO will be a nostalgia thing ('course I saw it long before the molestation allegations came out), as I'm sure it is for a number of adults who go see it. I still remember hearing MJ on the radio and thinking that it was weird to hear Captain EO outside of Disneyland.

Don't get the Red Cedar run or whatever it is, the changes to TSI, and the change to the Treehouse.

I'd rather go running around in Yosemite, and I'm sad that two nods to classic novels have been modernized to make them more "hip." I was excited to read The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn in high school partly because of TSI and all of the RoA activities that I loved as a kid (canoes are still a must-do on my list at DL).

OK I'll probably get flamed for this but...

....I can't stand Haunted Mansion Holiday. It was ok the first time, for curiosity's sake, but I can't say I'd be sad if HM was left in its original form year round. I know that too many people enjoy it for that to happen anytime soon, though.

Oh, and I forgot, but that whole turkey leg thing? What's with walking around chewing on a piece of greasy dead bird?

Agreed:rotfl2: It looks SO gross to me!

I don't really get Bangel BBQ either. I'm not a huge meat person though so I guess it doesn't much appeal to me.

It's a great place for little ones to burn a whole bunch of energy!

I can't believe I forgot to put this one at the top of my "I Don't Get It" list. I don't like the HMH version at all. I want to be told to hurry baaaaaack and be reminded to bring my death certificate. ;) I haven't seen Haunted Mansion the way it is meant to be seen in nearly 14 years, but that will change very soon. :lovestruc

Aww, we love the teacups! They're a must-do on every trip.

I love this thread and being able to see how everyone's opinions are both similar and different!

EDIT: Also, I don't get the big deal with the dessert package and preferred seatings for F! and the like. I think half of the fun is staking out your spot early and spending quality time just talking and playing around while waiting. Also, we've been fortunate enough to meet some great people and have some really nice conversations during those times. :)

I agree with ya on waiting for F. also I'm usually tired and appreciating the break about that time. I also catch up on phone calls.

For me it's the opposite('getting' stuff others don't seem to)--like, I'm going to want to just sit and look at the Mickey Ferris wheel for hours I'm sure. I haven't heard from anyone else who just has enjoyed watching it. I loved space mountain before the rehab but hate the new music-- for me it was 1/2 the ride. I still love the ride but really wish for the old surfer music.
I also don't know anyone else who has developed a raging crush on Bob Iger...:darth:
Yes I gone to the dark side.

I am not sure I am going to love the new music either. The old music was so awesome! You're right, it did make up half the ride!

I don't get the Canoes:bored: or DTD:crowded: would rather spend my $$$ in the park itself.

(sidebar: Shout-out to the Monte Cristo and Dole Whip!!!):woohoo:

Oh, I loved the old music on SM too! I'm always a little disappointed when the ride starts and it doesn't have that same "surfer" music, as you called it. But i love the ride anyway.

Another thing I don't get is the arcade (or i guess, starcade?). I remember back in the 80s and 90s wondering why anyone would take time out of DL to play video games. I'm now married to a video game fanatic and so we often have to go at least walk through the arcade to see what fabulous new game might be there. I asked DH about what he didn't get and he said he didn't get why they don't expand the arcade and use the upstairs area. :rotfl:

deejdigsdis: Oh, good, I'm so glad I'm not the only one  . Actually, the HMH was my inspiration for getting an AP...so I could go to the Park other times of the year besides my usual December trip, and see the Haunted Mansion in all it's true glory! Have fun on your upcoming trip!

I like to stare at the light show on Mickey's Vomit Wheel :rotfl: too...so much that one of the main reasons my favorite hotel to stay in when visiting the Park (Stovall's) is my favorite, is because I can sit in the hot tub there & have a perfect view of it! I can't see the Mickey head from there, but I can see the light show, and that's what's HYP-NO-TIZ-ING & MEZ-MER-IZING :wizard: about it!

I also don't care for the "new" music in Space Mountain, because Dick Dale rules, m'kay? Seriously, I don't understand why they got rid of the surf guitar soundtrack, as it was PERFECT for Space Mountain...

I also like Dick Dale and the Deltones, brings back the college day memories when used to hit the eticket rides twice a month.

:confused3I love Tigger Tales & Monte Christos... I can never eat a whole one though, and wish they sold it as half a sand.

I dont get- why they didnt make CA- a park for all the Pixar movies. I think Screamin- would be an awesome coaster for the Incredibles.

I dont get- why there is a carnival theme going on at Midway in CA. I thought Walt didnt like Carnivals...:confused3

I dont get all the empty space near the Monsters Inc. ride... which I love!

I dont get the Turkey Leg- I tried it, and it taste like a ham. It doesnt even look like Turkey!

I dont get why almost every place to eat has almost the same food on the menu. I like variety and yummy tasting stuff. I wish they turned Innovations building into a mini indoor Epcot Center, with tons of food from all over the world!

I dont get why BBQ Bengal- doesnt put sauce on the vegie skewer...

I dont get The Redwood Trail or the Giant Rock in the middle of CA- or The Wine Country thingie.. I know its because of "California"- but when I go to Disneyland... I want to see Disney stuff... not things to do in CA.. which puts me back to my other point- a Pixar Land... all those Disney/Pixar movies rock!

Ok and I love Splash Mountain.

And one last thing- I love Toy Story movies... but I dont get why there are two rides (one for each park) that has to do with the movie. And that they are both pretty similar...

I wish they had a Lilo and Stitch ride and Aladin ride, and Incredibles.

I dont get the whole BBQ ranch thing.. it feels dusty and dirty to me.

I dont get why all the hotels on Harbor and near Disney dont partner up and create some really cool hotels with Disney themes. Like a Princess Hotel- shapped like a castle and go all out with princess themed rooms. A Haunted Hotel - like Haunted Mansion... a hotel for Toy Story... a sorta underwater themed hotel for Nemo, and Little Mermaid. A Palace hotel for Aladdin. Etc. I think that would be cool.

I am back lol.. I also dont get the Vinylmation...

And where are they going to put all the Marvel Rides? :rotfl::thumbsup2:cool1::wizard:

Also... for the big shows- Fireworks, Fantasmic... WOC... why cant they install some sort of bleacher system that comes up out of the ground when its near show time? :confused3

I don't get the Canoes:bored:

How else is one supposed to work off the churros and Tigger Tails?

I still have grand designs to commandeer a canoe someday and claim "untouched" sections of TSI in the name of Her Royal Highness, me. pirate::rolleyes1:cloud9:

Sidenote: I miss the Mike Fink keelboats.

I also dont get why only soCal- gets special offers on Ap tickets and payment options... why not all of CA since they went and made a whole park dedicated to CA... :confused3
