What don't you get that everyone else seems to get?

Can do the Monte Cristo, the grease.......and I have never done Bugs World. I go right past it not even thinking about it. I LOVE Soarin and ToT. I used to do a lot of skydiving when I was younger(532 jumps) but after riding Soarin 3 years ago I now am into hanggliding, easier for an old guy.

Hang gliding is terrific! What always struck me was the quiet -- no motor, just you and the wind up there with the birds.

I worked myself up to a Hang 2 rating before I crashed my diver into the ocean, lost the kite (~$2K), and almost drowned. Never replaced it, haven't been hang gliding since (would have to spend significant effort getting recertified now). But I highly recommend it.

So I guess Soarin' is kinda special for me because of that. Not exactly the same, but brings back great memories.

Oh, and I forgot, but that whole turkey leg thing? What's with walking around chewing on a piece of greasy dead bird?

:scared: I am so with ya there. They are gnarly and my oldest DD loves them. Gak! I need to find that photo and post it.

Off topic, joined the USHPA last year and currently doing rigid.

For me it is the Turkey Leg....Y U C K!

My son was wanted on forever, and never tried it out of respect for my vegetarian daughter. She wasn't with us in February, so he tried one finally.

Oh my gosh.....it was disgusting. We as a family will never have one again.

What I do love is that we all have our opinions...there is enough good for everyone to enjoy something.

I love the Monte Cristo (only 1/2) and Dole Whips.

People celebrating the a child molestor and lining up to take thir children to see movie with him. Death does not erase the horror of one's life.

In case you don't remember, he was proven innocent. Both times. It was just greedy people wanting money. And he deserves that show there after how crappy the last 15 years of his life was.

I am another one who has no interest in the gigantic turkey leg. It's not that I don't occasionally enjoy a turkey sandwich, but I have no need for that leg.

I love love love real pineapple, but I am not a big Dole Whip enthusiast. I would rather grab one of those juicy and delicious pineapple spears from the cart on Main Street than get the Dole Whip.

I actually do enjoy the Monsters Inc. ride - it is not my all-time favorite, but I like that it's there. I am always shocked by how short the line is. I think I have only had to wait to get on the ride one time (and that was about 15 minutes, maybe). Every other time we have walked right on, so I can only assume that not many people like the ride, OR they just don't know that it's there, as it is tucked away in DCA, out of the line of fire.

I pretty much think that everything 'belongs' in DL & DCA and has its rightful place in making DLR what it is. However, I will say that I guess I don't 'get' the Nemo Subs. Don't get me wrong - I love "Finding Nemo," the movie. And I enjoyed the old version of the subs for what they were, in all their campy, corny, sea monster-esque glory. BUT I am very underwhelmed by the Nemo Subs. I wish there were more Animatronic characters in the ride, and not just the screens put up with scenes from the movie. I get that it probably cost millions of dollars to do that and that it is probably a huge technological feat...but I just wanted more from the ride, and it leaves me wishing that there were a separate ride devoted to Nemo and that they had left the Subs the way they were!

Totally agree, I wish they would have left the subs alone.

Someone mentioned Bengal BBQ. That's another one on our list. It gets pretty expensive to eat a couple pieces of chicken with ok sauce. We tried it a couple of times, but for the same price as a couple of skewers of meat, we can get a better/more filling option elsewhere.

I second (third, fourth, fifth?) the Turkey Leg thing too.

Okay, I also don't really get the whole dole whip thing. It was okay but nothing i would rave over and probably won't get it again.

Also, I don't get the burgers at taste pilot's grill. We tried them because several people seemed to think they were SO good and honestly they just seemed like theme park quality burgers to us. Although there were a lot of toppings you could put on them.

And I don't get the house of the future or whatever it's called inside innoventions. I know it's not something that people rave over but we saw people having fun pushing buttons to do different things but when we tried either nothing happened or it was just a button to adjust the lights which isn't that exciting to me.

Oh and I don't get facebook either. Okay, I know, that has nothing to do with DLR but it's something i've been trying to figure out recently and I just don't get why it's so popular when it seems kind of messy and disorganized and overly complicated. But apparently I seem to be the only one who feels that way. :rotfl:

i soooo get:

soarin!!!! my favorite ride!!
dole whips

so don't get:

turkey legs
NOT using FP's :confused3(at least at WDW, but more for us insiders!)

can't wait to try the monte cristo.....

and we all love Finding Nemo and own the movie. But I was very underwhelmed by the ride (I do remember the old subs from when I was kid in L.A.). Thank goodness we were on the first sub of the day on Magic Morning -- no wait.

Soarin I love, not a fan of Dole Whips, but I had my frist Monte Christo last year and I fell in love. Can't wait to have another one this year!

I don't get the monte cristo sandwhich. Heart attack on a plate. As a matter of fact my best friend who gets it everytime we go did have a heart attack this year.

Splash mountain. I get the end is exciting, but before that it is so boring and confusing. Almost no young people even know the story.

I HATE what they did to the submarinbe ride. The new nemo ride is boring and a total joke.

I agree. I absolutely do not understand the draw to Splash Mountain.

I also couldn't agree more with the Turkey Leg consensus. Yuck!

Oh good! I am so glad to see that I am not the only one underwhelmed by the Nemo Subs! I hate that I don't like it, if that makes sense. I want to like it. "Finding Nemo" is one of my favorite Pixar movies, and I grew up with that old, hokey submarine voyage so I can appreciate the nostalgia of it and it has its place in DLR...but the combo of Nemo and the Subs and the way they did it was just anti-climactic, I think. It would have been better, at least, if it had been an all Animatronic situation instead of those screens...or better yet, just make a whole separate ride for Nemo and his friends and leave the Subs as is, but I guess it is what it is.

I agree. It's an ok ride, and we'll go on it if the wait is only a few minutes, but otherwise, it's not an every trip type of thing.

Toy Story Mania is the same way. If we catch it at RD or when they had the now defunct single rider line, it was ok, but no way would I wait more than maybe 15 minutes for it.

TSMM! Totally dumb, boring ride IMO. A live video game--big deal :rotfl:
