I got a similar email yesterday for my August stay at All Star Movies. CSR, POFQ and POR were options but I don't think they were offering a better deal then the current offer out there. I was hoping it was a complimentary upgrade but it wasn't. When I looked again today, there was no availability.
Quoting myself here. When I looked again last night, there was availability. After talking to my two boys, we have moved to CSR, for $31 more a night. The pool slide won them over and since I'm teaching summer school, there is a little extra money to splurge
I wouldn't do it. Save the money.I mean $155 more per night lol.
I might be in the minority, but we used to love Boma for dinner and made it a point of going each trip. The last three times we have gone have been a huge disappointment. The meats have been poor cuts or cooked waaay too much. The soups are still good, but they were all lukewarm - enough that I was a little concerned about food poisoning. They were slow (all three times) to refresh the food items. Our waiters would disappear for long periods of time, so very few refills and the check took forever, even after we had given our credit card. The third time we were there (Jan 23), DS asked why I picked Boma since it had been so bad the prior two times, and I told him I couldn’t give up on it since we had always enjoyed it so much. We won’t be back for dinner - breakfast has still been fine.I booked Boma for our first night. Opinions?
Thank you!
Not regarding the travel insurance--I don't know how that works--but you have an AP and the AP rate is essentially what the OP was offered, so you don't need the discount code if you want to switch resorts. However, you should speak to WDW to make sure the travel insurance is transferable.OP, I apologize if this is hijacking the thread too much, but I have a question. I have a 3 night stay scheduled at Coronado Springs at the end of August and I paid for WDW travel insurance at the time of booking with WDW. I am a new AP holder and I booked the AP rate for CS. I'm wondering if I were to receive a special offer/PIN code like you did, whether I would be able keep/transfer my travel insurance or if I would lose it? OP, did you have travel insurance? If you did, were you able to keep it and have it cover your new booking? Just not sure how that works?
I noticed a while back that the AP rate for Swan/Dolphin was very similar to the CS rate I paid, and I called WDW to switch to Swan/Dophin. The CM I spoke with said I would have to forfeit my travel insurance to make the resort switch, and I wasn't willing to leave that $ on the table, so for now, I'm staying put. I wasn't sure if losing the travel insurance was because I was switching to a non Disney owned resort, or if I would lose the travel insurance regardless.
I hope you have a magical trip!
Between Boma and Sanaa, I'd chose Sanaa (at lunch or late in the afternoon) for animal viewing. The food is wonderful there too!
And congrats on getting the discount code, AKL is a wonderful resort. Stayed there last year. We had a "standard view" and still had a great view of the Uzima Savanna. We saw lots of animals, especially giraffes. Honestly, it was just as good a view a family member had who booked a Savanna view. Lots of standard/resort view rooms have great views. Some look out onto rooftops and driveways, but many do not, so call in a request if you can or use touring plans.
We were at the end of the resort, so it was quite a hike to the lobby/transportation, but honestly, it did not bother us. There were animal overlooks in the hallway, so just walking to where we wanted to go was a treat. We really loved our room on top of everything else. I'd read how "dark" the rooms were and small compared to other deluxe ones, but we did not find that to be the case at all. Beds were comfy, the bathroom was fabulous, and we were happy!
I got the same email. I could have gone from a Little Mermaid at AOA to Colorado Springs for no additional charge. We opted not to so it because want to use the skyliner.
No charge is pretty cool! We did have to pay more, but from what I hear it was a good deal.
