Please help a newbie figure out the DDP - when it says the following after a menu list, what does it mean?!

Disney Dining Experience 20% Discount

And just so I understand this right.... if I have the DDP, I can use the table service for a character meal? Also, what restaurants are considered a "signature restaurant" that takes 2 table services?

Thanks for helping the confused newbie
Amy

Well, I'll help you with one of those questions:

The Disney Dining Plan (DDP) is the add-on that you purchase as part of your package. It allows you to use "credits" for meals and snacks.

The Disney Dining Experience (DDE) is a card that is available to purchase that gives you a 20% at certain locations.

The two are not related.

To purchase the DDE card, you either have to be a FL resident OR have an annual pass or premium annual pass.

right and I believe the DDE is only available to FL residents, AP holders and DVC members.

Signature restaurants:

Cali Grill
Artist point
Citricos
Jiko
Yachstmen steakhouse
Flyin Fish Cafe
Brown Derby

Some character meals take 2 points but are not "signature restaurants" ex; cindy's royal table.

and yes, with the DDP you can use a table service credit for most character meals. Cinderella's castle is one of the exceptions - it requires 2 credits.
