I just received my new member packet. In the vacation planner book it states
"Memeber may not book and travel on The Disney Collection vacations within the last 60 days of their Use Year."

Does that mean if I have a December use year I can't use my points in November to stay in one the The Disney Collection resorts?
We are still waiting for our points to show up in the system and if all else fails we want to be able to use them somewhere before they expire.

With a December Use Year, it means that you cannot call to make a non-DVC reservation after September 30 for dates between October 1 and November 30. If you call on September 30 (or earlier), you can reserve for that same period. You may use your points for a Disney Collection reservation as long as you make the reservation by September 30.

The reason for this is that DVC has to have time to reuse those points to "pay" for the non-DVC stay. At 60 days, any DVC villas still unreserved are already turned over to CRO and this policy just reconfirms that "Breakage Period".

Members can still make reservations for DVC resorts during that same time and can also bank points into the World Passport Collection for later use.
