What does the Easter bunny bring at your house

My son had a friend over and they were playing with his hover ball. The friend made a comment along the lines of wanting one and my son told him the Easter bunny brought it last year and maybe he (the friend) could get one from the Easter bunny this year. Friend got mopey and said the Easter bunny doesn't bring him toys, just candy.

I didn't realize some people only did candy, now I'm curious what others do.

For me, I normally buy candy and a few toys. I typically spend about $50 or so. This year my son is really into Jurassic world and wants a robotic indominus Rex. I found one on sale for $55...I have that, a few books, and the candy.

Candy, silly string, bubbles, maybe a coloring book or crayons, super cheap outdoor toys if anything frisbee, kite, etc. My kids have a minimal Easter and no big toys at all.

I can spend $50 or less total on all four baskets in my house. DS11, dd7 Dh and I.

Same here. But for 3 people.

We never got real presents from the Easter Bunny. Maybe a stuffed animal, candy, little toys, cheap movies and the like.

It varies from year to year, but we typically do candy and a few small gifts. It was usually outdoor toys (bubbles, chalk, jump ropes, balls, etc) and a stuffed animal when they were younger. They've also gotten beach towels, t-shirts, books, art supplies... basically anything we'd probably buy in the spring anyway. Now that they're older, they get lip gloss, nail polish, lotion, etc.

Last year, we went to WDW at the end of May, so we filled eggs with 2 quarters and a penny (for pressed pennies) and trading pins. Baskets held Disney shirts and a couple other small things for the trip.

Grandma always shows up with tons of candy, so the Easter Bunny doesn't do too much of that!

I usually do new swim suits, goggles, pool toys, kites, bubbles, sidewalk chalk, and candy...maybe a DVD if there is something that just came out that they want. I never do big toys and this year, I doubt we even do baskets since we will be in WDW.

Candy and a movie or some other small thing. I never understood the idea of giving tons of stuf for Easter. Isn't that what Christmas is for? I'm also not religious but to me it seems sacrilegious to give tons of stuff on that day..

Usually a spring themed t-shirt, a small stuffed animal, sticker book, markers or color pencils, a new book. If we are taking a spring trip it might also include a new swim suit & swim goggles. I always include a chocolate bunny. I don't include other candy since they wont eat it and then I do. I won't touch those cheap chocolate bunnies so they are safe. No toys though.

No candy here. Swimsuit, towel, summer clothes, book, bubbles, chalk other outdoor activities for my youngest. My oldest dd got a soccer jersey and new ball/shin guards and my middle ds got a red sox jersey batting gloves, socks ( the ugly basketball ones that the boys love). I'll see what they need this year, but I'm sure my middle one will get another jersey. He is a jersey junkie. In the eggs for the hunt I put money. The kids get enough candy from the extended family so I don't get any. I don't really buy anything I wouldn't get anyway except for maybe the jerseys.

our kids are in high school and will get a Chocolate bunny and a $15 gift card to the local burger place. I may splurge and make jello jigglers (for some reason my teens love them!) lol

My baskets as a kid were generally candy plus one smaller toy or something, not something expensive though. My mom STILL makes me an Easter basket though, (oh, Mom) and she usually puts edible things like cheese and things she found at Costco that she thinks I'd like.

We don't do big gifts for Easter. It's not a holiday I want to make a gift giving occasion. We do a bit of chocolate and perhaps one small spring gift (swim gear, outdoor toys).

Usually just a chocolate bunny, hershey kisses and we give one DVD not for each of them but just one to share. We never made it a gift giving holiday.

I grew up getting toys and books for Easter (all fit in a basket) and did the same for my kids----we all have December birthdays so it is nice to get (and be able to give) at some other time of year. And my kids always got one item from us and one from Santa (plus stockings) at Christmas--based on DIS threads I think we bought fewer toys between Christmas and Easter combined than many DISsers buy for just Christmas.

There is no right or wrong in this sort of thing--just different families with different traditions

I've always given candy and some summer toys or swim gear. Probably around $20 per kid (we like the good candy, lol). I've had to get a little more creative as they outgrew summer toys.
This year, DD18 is getting rubber rain boots for college and I'm going to fill them with grass and a little candy. DS16 is getting a video and some candy in his basket.
My parents gave similar gifts when I was a kid. The extra "stuff" makes the basket look full without giving the kids a huge amount of candy.

I try to mostly gift my son what he "needs". Now that Spring is on it's way and we will be outside more I am giving him stuff to play with outside. (Ball, chalk, bubbles, swim trunks, etc.) With our upcoming WDW trip I was thinking of throwing in a Disney movie too...and of course some candy!

I used to get them small toys, but a couple years ago both of my young adults asked me to please stop. ;) So now they get a basket full of socks and toiletries and sensible things like that. Plus a couple chocolate bunnies, of course!
