What Does the Black Dot Mean?

This has been driving me crazy lately.

What does it mean when the envelope has a black dot? The key at the bottom of the page doesn't show an example of it/tell what it means?

Anybody out there know?

When I saw this thread, I thought you meant the Black Dot from Treasure Island. When DD was little, her pre-school took the kids to see Muppet Treasure Island and she was terrified. When I finally got it out of her, it was the Black Dot she was so afraid of. I had to get the book out to remember what it meant--I found it so odd that she was so scared of the Black Dot!

Now it's a big joke around our house...Beware the Black Dot!
