My wife and I are sitting at home tonight on Saturday night. Saturday night is supose to be the most exciting night of the week. It might be if you are in your 20s and PARTY at the local night spot drinking all night. Or if you are wealthy and attending a Play or Opera at the Clasical Concert Hall for $100 a ticket.

It seems like most leisure activities for Saturday night is to expensive, or designed for families with kids, young 20 something hips, drinkers or smokers.

What does the Average childless couple in their mid 40s do on a Saturday night?

Well, we are a 40ish couple with a teenager who has her own life, and we usually sit in front of the idiot box. And if we're really feeling crazy, we get Dairy Queen too. ;)

Well, i'm not childless, middle-aged or average, but I vote for a movie and a drinky afterwards.

*ahem* this is my 6,000th post. :goodvibes

We rent a good DVD. Then when it's over, we hit the hot tub with a nice glass of wine.

You're freakin married. Go out, dammit. At least you have someone to go out with.

Movies? dinner? go for a walk? Sit and enjoy each other's company? Many things you can do.

The sign of a truly happy marriage is when you're so content, you don't WANT to go out. ;)

Sit and enjoy each other's company?? Oh to be young and naive. :teeth: My friend and her dh are childless tonight- they were going to go out to dinner and "pretend we like each other" :rotfl2: Just kidding OF COURSE! ;)

:Pinkbounc What does the Average childless couple in their mid 40s do on a Saturday night?

things that i dream of doing once the kids are raised and out of the house...

We are sitting at home, eating pizza and watching the NASCAR race. To us, that is an ideal Saturday night!

When NASCAR is not on Saturday nights, we usually go out to eat and then hit the local Wal-Mart.

Went to a family dinner and now home watching the Nascar race. We aren't really "going out" people. A quiet evening at home suits us just fine.

DH and I are sharing a bottle of wine. He's playing Madden Football on the PS2 and I'm DIS-ing and cleaning out our filing cabinet (my annual shred-fest). How positively exciting! :rotfl2:

We are late 20s and childless for now-we are both non smokers and neither of us are really drinkers. But Saturday nights are our special night out of the week when we can be together-sometimes we rent a DVD and have icecream, other Sat nights we go to the movies, a play, dinner, dancing, sports event, go out with friends or something else. We almost always do something on Sat night though...maybe not exciting but being childless we rarely stay in on this night....for now.

DH and I just now finished sanding our basement. We are finishing it ourselves so it keeps us really busy. Tomorrow we will watch Football because we play in the same Fantasy Football League. We have tons of fun. We are each others best friends, not to sound silly, but it is sooo true. :love2:

Well tonight i am childless and DHless so what am i doing. DISing. when DH is here and we are childless sometimes we go out to the next town and go out to eat or go shopping. (we live in a small rural area...going to the next town is a big thing... LOL)
