What does "Points In Reservation Status" Mean

Hi Veterans

Here I am still looking for a great resale to come up and saw one which said points in reservation status.

Can anyone clarify what this means???

Also, why are there not many good contracts out there with banked points right now????

Points in reservation status cannot be used to make a reservation at a DVC resort or for an II exchange. These points were used to make a reservation for something inone of the "Collections" - for example, a cruise or a stay at one of the non_DVC WDW resorts such as the Poly ofr the GF. That reservation was cancelled and the points returned to the member's account - but now they can only be used for something outside of the DVC resorts.

Probably because the "good deals" get snappped up before they ever make it to a web listing. The saavy buyers call the brokers to tell them what they are looking for. When a good contract comes in, the broker calls his/her list of waiting and ready-to- buy-now customers. Also, lots of owners borrow their points to take one last trrip before they sell.

It means "You're toast!" Naw, not quite. It means the points were used for a non-DVC reservation which was subsequently cancelled. Those points can only be used for non-DVC accommodations - not DVC itself - so they're restricted and much less valuable than regular points.

Inventory of resales - the quantity and quality of resale inventory varies all over the ballpark. If you have something specific in mind, I'd call one or more of the brokers and tell them what you are interested in. They may get the perfect contract for you tomorrow and they can call you right away instead of advertising it.

I have already given my name to the Timeshare Store and nothing yet.

I think I may call and be a little more flexible with the number of points I want and hopefully that opens up something.
