What does PDA stand for?

I know what people mean when they say this or that couple engaged in a little public PDA, but I have yet to figure out exactly what it stands for.

Funny one...at my daughter's school, they have scheduled "DPA" into the cirriculum. At first, I was taken aback thinking that it was "PDA", but it means "daily physical activity"!!!

This thread made me think of my school's most recent newspaper, which was absolutely horrendous and made me unbelievably mad, but thats a different story. LOL. There was an article in there about PDAs. The title of the article...Perfectly Disgusting Affection. I thought it was funny.
