Not sure on the EOM, OME is original manufatured equipment ie: a Brand cell phone or camera battery over the generic.

Here is another acronym for you. Do you mean OEM?

I see this acronym a lot when looking for electronic items. I think it means Original Equipment Manufacturer.

My take on the acronym is this: If a big company, like Dell or HP buys in bulk from the manufacturer, they get those items at a discounted price. So, if they need 10,000 copies of MS Windows or some SD Cards or Ram, they get a great deal and the manufacturer does not have to provide the consumer packaging that we see at the store.

So, if I am buying an OEM software item, I won't get the box, just the CD, but it will be a full version with the CD key and all. When I buy an OEM SD card, its the same card that I would buy at Office Depot but it comes in the little plastic case only and none of the retail packaging that you would get at Office Depot is included.

LOL!! Maybe it was OEM!?!?! So, if I see an Otterbox cover OEM....that just means I'll get the cover w/o a box??

Yeah. OEM means it's the real deal, name brand stuff. It's not a generic or chinese copycat.

Not sure about phones, but in computer parts OEM usually means that you will just get the part and none of the accessories. i.e. it is not in a "retail" package.
