What Does Marijuana Smell Like?

I think it really depends on the variety of the pot(yes there are varieties!) Some smell very sweet while others have that rancid skunk smell.My old roommates were heavy stoners and, believe me, coming home to a house full of smoke, you learned pretty fast what it was and what type LOL What always bothered me more than the smell of pot was the incense they would burn and the oils they would use on themselves to cover up the smell. To this day, PATCHOULI makes me gag

put dried oregano on the burner of your stove. it is a heinous odor and smells a little like smoldering oregano.

I think it smells like a distant skunk walking through a smoke cloud.

I just have to add:
My DS about 4 years ago had a birthday party and I bought packs of gum at the dollar store for all the kids. All of a sudden my DS smells JUST LIKE MaryJ! I'm freaking out! My DBF says someone gave it to him (he really knows what is smells like he grew up in the 70's ) I just couldn't believe it. Well, we get in the car and my DD gets a piece of gum out and starts chewing it, alas, the MaryJ smell! So I tell my DBF to have my DS chew another piece of that gum and it smells just like it! I'm really happy my 8 year old is not smoking. Now I NEVER let them buy GREEN APPLE bubble gum! I think it was bubblicious!

If your clothes smelled like stale cigarettes, then it probably wasn't pot. Your clothes would have more of a sweet and smelly smell (different than what you smelled when it was burning). ...or so I've heard

I know it's an odd question...

I have had some issues with my new downstairs neighbors. They are smokers and leave the door to the shared stairwell open to air out their apartment. Nobody else in our building smokes and two of us are allergic/sensitive to it. Yesterday there was a sheriff's deputy in their apartment and let's just say it did not appear to be a social visit. I would not put it past one of our other neighbors to call the police to complain about the smoke and maybe indicate they were smoking weed. I also would not put it past them to actually be smoking weed.

Tonight there is an odd smell, it's kind of a sweet smell. Maybe I'm paranoid because of the sheriff, but I'm wondering if they're smoking marijuana down there. What does it smell like? I'm assuming since I'm not in their apartment if it is indeed marijuana there is no need to worry about a contact high or about having enough in my system to fail a drug test (I am currently applying to several schools so this is a concern.) I'm sorry if these are stupid questions. Thank you for your help.

It can smell differently depending on the quality. Could be a skunky smell, could smell a bit like oregano.

You can NOT get a contact high or get it in your system if they are smoking in their apartment.

It might also be a different type of legal cigarette. Clove cigarettes are legal cigarettes & they have a very sweet smell.

If you're ever at a concert or a ballgame and you smell something funky, look around for where the smell is coming from. When you see people kinda/sorta covertly smoking, that's the smell of pot.

Have you never been in a college dorm, to a concert or ballgame? Any of those places you can get a good wiff of it. At the Billy Joel concert at Shea Stadium I swear it was coming from every direction LOL. When I went to school any of the girls bathrooms you could walk into and smell it!

I lived in a college dorm, but never smelled anything smokey period. Believe me, the SA's would have been all over that very quickly. It's not an overly common thing at my college, and those who do partake do so off campus. As for a concert or a ball game- never been to either. The closest I have come was the Les Mis tour and something tells me that is not a get high type of crowd.

To me, it smells sweet. I've smelled it at every concert I've ever been to, but I never worried about a contact high which I think is hard to get... except for that time a 17 year old male neighbor I sorta knew drove me to an after school event after picking up a friend of his. I had no idea what was going on but the windows were rolled up & I was in the back seat, this is what I am convinced it looked like when we climbed out of the car :

Funny story about a contact high: My trainer in Fantasyland attractions was working Peter Pan on Grad Nite when a huge group went through and lit up. He said the smoke was billowing out the exit (where he was) for a half hour after they left. He kept joking that he shouldn't be on heavy machinery for awhile. I don't think he was actually high- but he was getting there! I do not miss Grad Nite. Thankfully, I always managed to get the tame(r) grads.

Once I passed near a door which reeked something awful. I was told it was pot. I couldn't beleive someone would want to inhale such afoul thing. I wanted to vomit. I'm not sure I was marijuana, I can only go by the word of the person who told me. I have my doubts because it stank so much that I can't see someone being around it not getting sick

Funny, I've been to several concerts, and didn't smell a thing. Elton John, Billy Joel. Paul McCartney, and others. I never smelled anything. I saw a lot of people drinking beer, but didn't smell a thing.

Do you mean Les Miserable? I would think a lot of the younger followers partake. It's that whole young,artsy, thing.

What school did you go to that no one got high on campus, I want to send my DS there!
