Only 1 week to go!!! Having seen the videos of it itlooks so cute and tame, but what is it actually feel like in the cars especially w nothing to hang on too, trying to judge if it is too much for my 78 year old mother mo. i can't wait to ride it.

It feels like you're sitting on top of gears grinding reall hard to move the car. Each "dance" is different and it's random, but they all do some 360 spins at the end. You get whipped around more on Mater than Luigi.

To me it was very smooth and devoid of any bad jarring motions. It does change directions fairly quickly so beware if that's an issue. The cars are not mechanically connected to the ground so it's a diconnected feeling much like being in a real car.. They don't have the directional limitations a car does though and can move sideways just as well as forward and backward. At the end every car spins around two revolutions.
It's worth the short wait in line they always seem to have but I wouldn't wait more than 5 to 10 minutes.

It was very smooth when I went on it. I wouldn't worry too much. It's one of the easier rides. As long as she's able to walk and step into the car, the ride itself is not bad at all.

My 74 year old mother rode it about 3 times, and she loved it! But, there is the small bit of spinning at the end. Might be a touch too much? Like a PP said, no where near as bad (or constant) as Mater. It's fairly mild up until the spin but that lasts like 5 seconds. Every time we went the line was 20 min or under, you may want to ride it once to gauge it and then hit it up later with mom.

It breaks down a lot. On Mater, if one side goes down, they can keep running the other. On Luigi, if one car stops, the whole ride has to reset.

Honestly, it was more fun to WATCH than to ride.

Bummer! Sorry to hear that! We loved watching AND riding it! We thought it was super cute and I gotta say it had a bit more pep to it than it looked like it would! We ended up riding it 3 times our last trip. It was a hoot watching the people before us do the big spin and scream and raise their hands in the air. It definitely brings life to that corner of the park. Those floating tires?? Wow, now that was not fun to ride OR watch!

My 4yo loved this, and we went on it three times last week. Twice we had "Hey Mambo," and the ride was very smooth. Once we had a different song (I can't remember it now), and that ride was jerkier, though I can't say for certain whether it was the car we were in or the choreography for that song that made it jerkier. I will agree with others that while it is fun in the car, you don't really appreciate the intricacies of the ride while you are on it; that appreciation comes from watching others. My 65 year old mother went on this (with "Hey Mambo") and loved it, though she closed her eyes at the end when we spun around.

I think it's fun and not too jerky. I honestly smile and laugh the whole ride!

My family rode it for the first time this summer. We liked it best at night with the popcorn lights strung across the dance floor giving added bit of atmosphere and charm. The other thing that plussed it up for us was that my son had his Ariel bubble wand on full blast through out our ride, and so a trail of bubbles followed our car around and we were wrapped in bubbles during big spin at the end. I did sort of worry about other riders who might hate or even be allergic to our bubbles, but then heck it was hard to walk anywhere in DCA without running into a stroller pumping out pounds of Ariel wand bubbles.

If I got bubbles in my face on that ride, I'd demand a re-ride. They're annoying enough everywhere else, rides and lines should be an escape.

What are the wait times like now? More or less than Mater's on average?

We were there last week and the parks were very low in attendance so when we road it took no more than one or two cycles before we got on - so maybe five minutes.

My 73-yr-old mother loves that ride. I was concerned that the slight jerks might be too much for her (she rides even less rides than my 2-yr-old because of jarring, wind, etc), but it wasn't an issue.

I disagree completely. The tires were awesome and FUN. Since the 3 of us would split into 2 tires, and since we all figured out very quickly how to make our tires go (and more quickly how to make them stop and be boring, so we didn't do *that*) we had an absolute blast chasing each other around and smashing into each other. :)

And we liked watching the people who had figured it out as well.

The new ride looks atrocious to us. My son and I stood there, watching this totally boring ride, through two ride cycles, and just moved on, shaking our heads at what they had done to a great ride.

well, "smashing" may be a little bit of an exaggeration... :snail:

I liked the tires too, I thought they were fun and different!
Luigis is ok but I agree with PP, more fun to watch!
