What Does Everyone Reserve or their FP+ at their 60 day mark???

I don't want to buy my tickets until about 20 days before we leave. Will there still be toy story mania times left if I wait until 2 weeks before we leave in early may? I don't know how fast these things are booking up? thanks!

There have been reports of them all being gone by supper time the day before, and others that they are gone by 9:30 that day -- I think both are right but based on different crowd levels.

We don't know when offsite guests will all be able to book in advance, or how far ahead they will be able to book. If it was right now, I'd say 14 days would be more than enough. For May, I don't think there's any way to know.

Etc, etc, etc. Yes, it does leave room for your ADRs by warning you if you have a time conflict. I would start from those, add in what you know you'll do. We found it easier to write it down on paper first.

We didn't actually book more than 2 days worth of FPs before we left home, but with offsite getting advance booking soon I would probably just get something in there at least a week before. You can always re-arrange them and change them when you're there. But at least you'll have something.

I should add -- we found that having them 2 hours apart meant that we were basically scheduled into those 3 hours because it's hard to find something to do that won't conflict with your next FP time. You're constantly looking at your time and wondering if that SB line is going to make you miss your next FP. So further apart is good. Back to back also works for rides that are close together -- since you'll do one and then walk to the next one. Be careful about scheduling one right after an ADR, or right after arrival at a park -- restaurants and buses aren't under your control.

Excellent information/advice, thank you :hippie:. I never thought about how far apart to reserve each FP+. We would be the family that would always be checking our watches and hoping and praying that we will be able to get to our next one in time...then I would have a cranky DH on my hands because of it :(. This is exactly why I ask these types of questions, so that I can get great advice before we leave and then have a happy family while we are there :goodvibes. I also like your idea of jotting down everything on paper first....I foresee a family meeting being held sometime in the near future ;).

Thank you, thank you, for the link JZCubed, that is really going to help me figure out which attractions I will make a priority to get FP+ and then so forth and so on. This is awesome :goodvibes.

Thank MesaBoy and the others who provided input.

And if you want any maps, Search by using the name Robo.

Both of these folks have been invaluable to answering my questions.

Let me add one thing - none of us are perfect. Please use the tools that you find here as guides, not 'Gospel'.

My son is 3 and loves Peter Pan, buzz light year space ranger spin and barnstormer so those are always our MK priorities.
The other three parks we usually do the majors....expedition, Soarin, ToT for my hubby and Disney Jr live for my son.

When we know well have a 2nd or 3rd MK day we go for the mountains.

However we tend to go at slow times so many times we don't even need the FP+

It really depends on your families needs and wishes while your there.
Just be smart about where you have dining reservations so nothing clashes.
Have fun!!

We are probably a little different than most, because we have a 6 & 4 year old, so we are reserving what they want to ride and character m&g's. I go for them, so I don't ride the big rides. I pretty much let them choose what they wanted.

The FP+ system will recogonize your ADR's when giving you times to choose for FP+.

So I did Toy Story Mania, Disney Jr Live and Voyage of the Little Mermaid for HS.

Epcot, Turtle Talk with Crush, The Seas with Nemo and Friends, & Meet Disney Pals at Epcot Character Spot.

MK day 1 - Meet Mickey Mouse at Town Square Theater, Dumbo, Meet Cinderella

MK day 2 - Festival of Fantasy Parade, Monsters Inc Laugh Floor, Peter Pan's Flight

AK -Kilimanjaro Safaris, Finding Nemo, Meet Favorite Disney Pals.

I know some of these probably aren't the most popular attractions and I could do without the FP+, but that's what the kids want to do, so I wanted to make sure we did them. :)

This is enlightening. I think this is exactly what Disney is expecting people to do in regards to FP+. It is exactly how Tom Staggs - Disney parks chief officer- described the process last January.

Have a great time.

I booked ours at our 60 day mark. We're going to the parks April 8-12 with our 2 kids- DD9 & DS6. We are doing RD at each morning EMH park to ride headliners multiple times then we booked our FP+ for after lunch/evening time. Here's what I booked:

EPCOT- Turtle Talk, Mission Space, Test Track
AK- Safari, Kali River Rapids, Expedition Everest
MK day 1- Thunder Mountain RR, Splash Mountain, Space Mountain
MK day 2- Thunder Mountain RR, Buzz Lightyear, Space Mountain
HS- Star Tours, Toy Story Mania, Tower of Terror

We have our dining reservations linked to our MDE, so they will automatically block out certain fastpass times if they conflict with your dining reservations. We plan to hit Soarin at RD and RnR coaster at RD on those park days since the tiering is in place at EPCOT & HS.

Hope this helps! Happy planning!!

My strategy in Dec was make RD every morning and ride while lines were short. Hop to a different park and use FP+ in the afternoon. I had MBs only no access to FP- and found this worked well for me. However, it was just me and friend - no kiddos. So making RD wasn't a problem - I can totally understand that some folks want to sleep in or have other issues that prevent them from making it to RD. I feel this strategy would be used by folks looking to get the greatest number of attractions in their trip.

Epcot is the only park that really bothers me. I feel that you get one real FP and the other two are throw away due to the fact that Nemo, Living the Land, Turtle Talk with Crush have short waits. Personally when I go again, I'll probably try to hit Epcot RD a couple of times and ride Soarin' and TT and then hop to a diff park and use my FP+ on rides that need them (my opinion of course). Or maybe Disney will drop the rule that all 3FP+ have to be used in the same park. =)

Best of luck OP!

Thank you again to all that responded, you are all helping me out :goodvibes. Tonight I decided to sit down with the family and ask them what they think we should get FP+ for. This is what we came up with so far, of course this could always change.

MK Day 1:
1) Space Mountain
2) Big Thunder Mountain
3) Splash Mountain

MK Day 2
1) Enchanted Tales with Belle
2) Seven Dwarfs Mine Train (in hopes that it will be opened by then)
3) Space Mountain

Epcot Day 1 (arrival day, going to park for dinner and staying for EMH)
1) Soarin
2) Mission Space
3) Illuminations

Epcot Day 2
1) Test Track
2) Mission Space
3) Maelstrom

Epcot Day 3
1) Test Track
2) Mission Space
3) Maelstrom

DHS Day 1
1) TSMM
2) Star Tours
3) ToT

DHS Day 2
1) TSMM
2) Star Tours
3) Great Movie Ride

Our thinking was that we wouldn't FP any of the shows because we can always find seats somewhere in the theaters. Also, we aren't opting to get FP+ for RnRC because we all decided that we will want to ride TSMM once this trip per DHS day (we used to ride it multiple times, but the kids aren't really into that ride as much as they used to) and instead of going with the masses that run for TSMM at RD, we will head to RnRC and ride that, hopefully a couple of times before the rest of the crowds make it to that part of the park. Another thought we had was that we wouldn't get FP+ for rides that are continuous moving to get on (i.e. Spaceship Earth, Buzz, Seas With Nemo, etc...).

We also talked about FP+ times, and we all agreed that we will reserve them for more in the later afternoon/evening, after we get back from our break. Our family loves RD and have a few ADRs planned for before the parks open, therefore we plan to ride as many rides in the morning before the rest of the crowd comes rolling in. What do you all think? Would this be doable....like I mentioned before, this is not set in stone and it is all subject to change.

Man, I forgot about the tiering thing...DOH. Thanks for pointing that out, like I said, these are subject to change :goodvibes. I was assuming that Maelstom was not apart of the the first tier, and same goes with Illuminations...don't ask me why.

I've done a ton of planning with touring plans.com

It has guessed ahead for Seven Dwarfs - and I am being WAY optimistic - but it helped to put things together - and get an idea.
