what does everyone do for a living?

I am an attorney and DH is a deputy sheriff. We go to Disney once a year. We also take a yearly trip to the Outer Banks and pay for the rest of my family to go too. Our WDW trip is paid solely out of DH's overtime -- God Bless Him!!!

I am an independent travel agent, owning my own agency and working out of my home. I part time at a department store working in the cooking/homewares dept because that's the stuff I know best, having been a mom for 19 years now! I am a mom and dad to my 2 teen sons, 19 and almost 18. Not really teens but young men! We try to go to Disney once a year, usually Spring break but going to try to up my visits more over the next year. Bought an annual pass so that I have more incentive to go! Going to plan a girls only long weekend down there in the Fall...yayyyyyyy.:goodvibes

I am a Realtor and my DH is retired Air Force and is currently being pursued by two different companies for his recruiting talents....I wish he would decide. :confused3 I have been very fortunate that my DH doesn't care how many times I go to WDW - although once a year is enough for him. We are normally a once a year family but this year we (mostly I) have made 5 trips. one was a DD and mom trip princess: , one a DS and mom trip pirate: , one a DD, DS and mom, one with all of us, and next month we will be taking our exchange student for 8 days to share the "world" with her:woohoo:

Im a wedding and portrait photographer with my own studio, and I also own an upscale childrens boutique called Madison Avenue, just outside NYC, (anyone need any awesome baby gifts?) My DH is a diesel mechanic but rarely does WDW with me and DD4, he can only handle so much magicpixiedust: he says..LOL...........so DD4 and I go alone(and have a blast) at least 4 times a year,(last yr we went 8 times, shhh,,,dont get DH started,LOL. _) We have APs which is the ONLY thing I ever ask Santa for and use Disney visa points, ask for disney dollars from everyone for DDs bday party and my bday etc,,,I always go on value time and its always not crowded and always awesome!! We just did free dining and now Im ruined for life-it was fab!! We have plans for Mid March and Sept and Nov, Yippee

Off topic, but where is your boutique??

I am a teacher and my husband is a CPA. We haven't been to Disney since in 7 years, since we became a family of 6 and then 7. We are going this August and I hope to go every year from now on...:dance3:

What fun learning what people do!! Isn't it cool when you are in DW, there are so many people there from so many different places, who do so many different things??? I love it!!

My husband is a senior manager in an engineering firm. I'm a SAHM to two awesome DS's, ages 9 & 10 & I do A LOT of volunteer work!! My husband often jokes that I'm the only person he knows who works 40 hours a week without pay!! :rotfl: But, I love it!

I'm an internal auditor for a financial institution. Not many people understand what I do, I like to say its a cross between a babysitter and a consultant.

My DF is a business development manager for a health care clinic that is in local pharmacies.

I'd love to go to WDW twice a year. We can only go about once every two years, as we always vacation at the beach with my family, so 2 vacations takes away a lot of vacation days.

Disneygirl725 I understand what you do because my DH does the same thing! I will have to tell him what you cross it as. Me, right now Im on Mat leave till July but normally Im a retail manager for Old Navy.

After being a SAHM for 20 + years I now work customer service meaning in my company I handle customer resolution between purchasing agents and sales reps for the south east, I also am mom to four college students My husband works for a large telecommunications company.

I'm a teacher which is the reason why I don't get to go to WDW as often as I would like. When I'm off from school, all of the kids are off from school which makes it the most crowded times to go (Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, summer). Summer is not as crowded, but it's so hot. When you live in a hot climate, you are so addicted to A/C. I try not to be outside from May to September.
One of my best trips was during the Mardi Gras holidays, but it has to be a short trip because we don't get the whole week off.

Me - Kindergarten Teacher

DH - 2nd Grade Teacher (although he really, really, really wants to teach K or 1 next year)

But I just tell everyone that I work with computers, to save the confusion.

This sounds like me! I'm an Oracle/MS SQL DBA for a well known medical institution. My DH is an electrician.

We are lucky enough to live 3 hours away from WDW, so it's a day trip for us if we want, but we mostly just go for 3 day weekends. My parents have been taking me to WDW since I was born and it has always held a special place in my heart.

My hat is off to so many of you parents who sacrifice to take your children to experience the magic. :wizard: I never knew how difficult it must have been for my poor (literally) parents when I was little, and somewhow they managed day trips every year. Only when I started paying my own way did I realize how much it really costs!

We love to get away at least every other month and camp at FW or DVC for the weekend. We did splurge and visit DL last year for our first anniversary. That is definitely something we wouldn't pay to do but every few years.

I'm a warehouse manager for a home service food company. :)

I have my own law firm which specializes in the child protection field. It's a pretty good deal because I can take time off to go down to WDW whenever I want as long as I've got someone here available to cover my appearances.

We've still been limited to one trip per year because of my wife's schedule as an HR Administator for a casino company. After our last trip she quit her job to come and help out at my office and free up her schedule for more trips. This year we're still doing the single trip but are already planning to take a second (and perhaps even a third) trip in '08. :goodvibes

I am one of 2 people who do the accounting for a large lawfirm with multiple offices. I have done 2 trips in 2005 and 2 in 2006 but one was a 4 day "weekend" and one was a 3 day ladies only trip. I purchased an AP one year and made my second trip before the AP expired. The second year it was more economical to buy a 10 day non-expiring hopper, of which I still have a day left. And its burning a hole in my pocket wanting to be used.

I'm saving for a 7 Day Magic Cruise so I'll probably skip WDW this year or just take a long weekend trip.

My DH and I own our business. We clean and recondition air filters and sell Baldwin Filters. It's kind of a parts store for construction companies. 2 years ago we also added HVAC filters to our warehouse, so now we sell filters for air conditioners/furnaces. Any Disney filter buyers out there? Would love to be able to write off our 6 trips per year to Disney by selling them the filters for all of those hotel rooms.:woohoo:
We have AP for all 4 of us and plan on going again next month for our then 9 year olds birthday. We were there for our 15 year old birthday on Christmas Day.

I drive a "package car" for UPS-soon to finish school and move into the dental field. My wife is Financial Adm for a large dental practice.

off topic, but...I just wanted to say - druidia I love your wedding pic with the fireworks. Awesome! Congrats on your marriage.

I am a stay at home mom who loves to disboard :surfweb: My DH works for the State of NY as an Engineer

What type of engineer? Mechanical, IT or LIRR? My father and grandfather both worked as engineers for the LIRR. Dad's been retired for about 10 years now.

Me, I'm the receptionist for my building for the IT sector of my company for almost 7 years. DH is a Network Systems Administrator for the State of NY at one of the universities. Although in two weeks his title changes to Acting Associate Director of Systems (:woohoo:) aka Head of Systems! He's one of the guys who keeps the computer servers running for the health science center library.

We don't get to go that much. Oct. 2006 was the first time we went as a family. But I'm hoping we can go back again next year maybe during the holiday season so we can see the decorations.

DH seems to go every other year due to a conference that he attends in the Dolphin and Swan. But he's lucky if he has one day to spend any free time in any of the parks.

I wouldn't mind going once a year or every other year during different times of the year. I just don't want to get Disney'd out again. When I was younger my family had gone in '85, 90 & 93. A few years apart from each other, but by 93 we actually got Disney'd out. However, each time we went it was in the summer, so that probably had something to do with it.

I am a SAHM and dh is a area manager for a mens formal wear chain(which means we can not go in Feb/March/April because of Mardi Gras and Proms, ugh). We have three kids; 9, 6, and 21months. We are taking our first family vacation to WDW in June, taking my two brothers with us also. We hope to go every 15months from here on out.

I am a SAHM, and DH works for Verizon as a cable splicer/field tech. We are lucky to be DVC'ers which is how we get to go to WDW so much!!
Great thread, it's so interesting to see what people do for a living!

I work for a large insurance company. Hard to explain what I do, but I do a lot of computer training, work on projects, and technical support.
DH is a project leader (In QA)for a software development company.

When I got my first job out of college, I immediately started having money drafted from my check to go into a vacation account in the credit union. Everytime I get a raise, I raise the money going into my account. I never miss the money because I never see it. We also charge everything to our Dis visa and pay it off every month. The 1% back adds up.

I am probably going to quit my job soon and be a SAHM, so right now I am trying to earn a little extra money through my cafepress shop. We also just bought into DVC because if I quit we wouldn't be able to afford to go to WDW as often.

We have always gone once a year - even before kids. Last year we went 4 times and we already have 3 trips planned for this year. If I am a SAHM, next year, we will probably only go once. Before I quit (I'm waiting for a bonus) I hope we can buy a few more DVC points.
