I am renting points off a co-worker for a stay at OKW in a studio in March. She has never stayed at OKW as she prefer's BWV location to the parks with her small children. Can anyone tell me what the kitchenette offers. Example: does it provide a toaster, micro, ect.
This is our first time using points and I hope it will convice my Husband to buy into DVC as we seem to go every year. thanks in advance for any advice.

An OKW studio has 2 queen beds. The kitchenette has a microwave, toaster, coffee pot, small fridge. As far as dishes, they have coffee mugs and glasses but the plates & bowls are paper and the utensils plastic.

do they supply cleaning stuff for dishes? or any solid type bowls for microwave use? just wondering what we'll need....

Sponge, dish towel, small bottle of dishwash liquid, paper towel & coffee starter pack. I think that paper bowls maybe micro safe but I'm not 100% sure; other than that no there are not any other bowl / dish items for the micro in studio units so if you've got some that you're able to pack and take along from home that may be best.

Other than the bed difference, the studios all have the same amenities.

Thanks for the help. What about the laundry facilities? Are there ones available for guests in the studios as I know the 1 and 2 bedrooms have them in the room. what is the cost? Is it set up like the value and moderate resorts?

There are laundry rooms by the pools with free washer and dryers. You will need to buy/bring your own soap.

Thanks everyone for your help. Does anyone have a suggestion as to which building is best. We are planning a bit of a relax/Disney vacation this time around as for the past few years we went for 14 day with 10 days in the parks. Didn't have the no expiry so it was a very busy 2 weeks. I was thinking about building 55 by the "quiet pool" my kids are going to be 17 and 11 and love just to be in the water. No need for the "Feature Pool" for them as they would prefer to be away from most of the little kids. Any suggestions?

I don't know which building we were in- I think it might have been about 55- it was way in the back and right across from a quiet pool. It was nice, quiet and relaxing- they had 2 washers and dryers in the laundry facility by the pool and it was about a 5 minute walk to the pool and a 5 minute walk to the bus stop.

The bowls are microwave safe. I used them for my daily breakfast of microwave oatmeal. I would rinse them out and reuse them throughout our stay. We've never been disappointed in any of our stays in a studio. We found them to be well equipped for our needs.

should we buy more bowls or forks, etc? are enough supplied for the 4 days between t and t?

The poster who posed the question, hsmamato2, asked whether or not

studios are equipped with "solid type" microwaveable bowls so

it occurred to me that their intentions may

be to prepare something more dinner-like; they may be interested

if you can tell them how well these paperware bowls stand up

when used for other food prep and also

how many times you were able to rinse out and reuse

paperware bowls.

While I don't doubt that you were able to wash them out and reuse them

and it's earth friendly to reuse, etc. if they're going to wash, etc. they may

prefer regular micro dishes/containers.

I just came back from a stay at OKW studio in 11/09. I find it hard to wash and rinse the paper plates/small bowls. I brought my small rice cooker to cook rice and noodle while we were there. I can't reuse the paper plates esp given the rice sticks to them. Luckily, I have brought my own plastic containers to use.
