Does anyone happen to have a copy for reference? I am planning on going on the England and France tour. Do you wake up real early? How much time on your own to travels have to check things out?

Thanks,

There is a sort of detailed itinerary on the website. If you go to the page for the England & France trip, up at the top you can click on "Itinerary" or download it as a PDF.

I can't help you with your questions, because they re-organized the trip the year after I took it in 2011. Hopefully someone who has taken the trip since 2012 will chime in here! :thumbsup2

Sayhello

I'd have to pull out my notes, but most mornings we were ready to meet in the hotel lobby by 8am. These are not trips for people who like to " sleep in"! Lol.

The printed itinerary booklet that you get doesn't actually have times listed on them--nor do you get an itinerary at the beginning of the week from the Adventure Guides with any kind of weekly schedule. At least I haven't on the three I've been on (Ireland, Scotland and Backstage Magic). They basically tell you the night before (1) what time you need to be down for breakfast and (2) what time you need to have your luggage out if you are moving accommodation that night. I think they like to keep it flexible and not give people too much to think about, especially for those early wake ups, LOL. As singing mom said, these are not tours for sleeping in! I'm glad about it though--they are expensive and I like that the day is full!

Exactly! My guide friend said it's also in case they have to make last minute changes with event hours & transportation, weather etc.

The tour days are full with wonderful, once in a lifetime experiences! you just need a "vacation" to recover from your vacation! :-)

I recently asked my "vacationista" about free time for the London and Paris adventure and this is the reply I received:

The following are details about your On Your Own timeframes for your
Adventure:

Day 1

Until 4:30 PM

The Welcome Dinner begins at approximately 5:00 PM, so Guests arriving
early may check in to the hotel and explore London at their leisure.

Guests will be given tickets by Adventure Guides to visit the London Eye
on Day 1 of the Adventure. Tickets should be used during OYO time.

Day 2

2:30 PM - End of the day

This looks consistent with the free time I had last summer. But in reality, here's what I saw as free time:
Day 1 London - I did use my ticket in the afternoon to ride the London Eye. Some people saved it til the next day then didn't get it in.
Day 2 London - after lunch this truly was what I felt the only really good block of time on our own on the trip. It was wonderful b/c we got a transportation pass to use on this day, so I took the tube back to walk around Piccadilly Circus. Then I went to the zoo to see the Winnie the Pooh statues and wandered the streets doing story book statue hunt through London using the tube and buses (Sherlock Holmes, Paddington, Peter Pan).
Day 3 & 4 at Foxhills - most of this time was spent unpacking, checking out the resort, relaxing at the resort, and packing.
Day 4 Windsor - this free time was near the castle, really as a chance for us to get lunch on our own.
Day 5 at St. Pancras Station - this time was spent across the street at King's Cross station waiting in line to get my picture taken at Platform 9 3/4 :wizard:.
Day 6 Paris - we were given tickets for the Arc de Triomphe which most of us used during the on our own time in the evening, this was also a decent block of time.
Day 7 Paris - this free time was near Notre Dame, really as a chance for us to get lunch on our own.

Hope this helps!

Re the London eye, you can pay extra and upgrade that free ticket to a skip the line pass and get pretty much right on.

At Notre Dame, do go inside. It's great.

Did they recently change itinerary? Foxhills was changed and there is no option to stay there?
