We'll have the refillable mugs this year. If my memory is correct, there were pretty much NO healthy options for little ones at the resort drink stations.
This is one of the reasons the DDP doesn't make sense for us in 2013, if milk were an option then we'd be talking! I think I remember thinking to myself that lemonade was the "healthiest" option...
At home, DD mostly just drinks water and sometimes milk. At WDW, with the refillable mugs, I usually let her get a little bit of lemonade mixed in with her water, just to give it some flavor, and feel like we are "getting something" for the mugs. I also wish milk was an option, we end up spending a lot of snack credits on it. Now, she has started drinking unsweetened tea quite a bit so that might be a good option for her when we go next time. At least I assume they have that at the drink stations - never paid much attention before though.

My daughter has had Juvenile Diabetes since she was 5... and she's not fond of plain water...TRICKY at WDW. We always brought some of the iced tea mix "to go" packets. (Celestial Seasonings makes natural ones.)

My kids will be allowed to fill their mugs with soda. I think/hope they can get milk with their meals though. At home they have milk or water unless we're eating out, and even then I often make them choose milk or chocolate milk. I don't mind a little soda everyday while on vacation.

Unfortunately.. they were drinking pop. But things have changed over the years. (We haven't been back since 2005) They are definitely drinking more water now, so next year, they are probably going to be drinking more water. They also like the Arnold Palmer. Just mix the ice tea and lemonade. I think they have Nestle Ice tea.
We also just let them drink soda or powerade while on vacation. Since we don't drink that at home, only milk & water, it's just a special vacation treat. Table service they order milk (as do I oftentimes lol!) but at the drink stations, I let them choose whatever they want. For one week every year or two I figure they'll survive!
Thanks. That's what I thought. I guess I'll just have to lighten up on what my little guy drinks on vacation as long as he gets his milk at bfast and dinner
