What do your kids call their Grandmother?

My parents are Grammy and Grampy, and DH's parents are Grandma and Granddad. Dh's Grandma is Great Grandma.

My boys calls my Mom- Nanners, this was not something that she requested and we still aren't sure where it came from- but she loves it.. They call my DH's Mom- Grandma, this frustrates her because my Mom has a "special" name and DS didnt came up with anything for her. DH's maternal Grandma is Oma-ma (she wanted his greatkids to call her Oma- but my oldest came up with his own varation). My maternal Grandma is Grandma Great. Both of our paternal Grandmas are just Grandma. My oldest determined what he would call each of them and the youngest followed suit.

Holy Cow!!! It's bad enough that he married my mother's sister!! But now you can see why people would stare when I would introduce her as Aunt Ramona.

My grandmother was Old Nanny, DH's was Old Mom-Mom.

My children call them Maw Maw and Paw Paw. I born and raised and stayed in Louisiana till I was 26, just about everyone I knew called their grandparents this.

In my family we've used Mom Mom and Pop Pop (sounds like mum mum and pup pup) for at least 3 generations back.

This too is what children's children's children have called their grandparents in my family. I love it because it is so cultural. Around here you know some one is a "native lower slower delawarean" if they address their grandparents as mom-mom and pop-pop. It's a great tradition that all of my sibs and I have firmly kept.

I don't have kids yet. My grandparents are Granny and Papa and the other set are Granma and Granpa. I was blessed enough to know two and a half sets of my great-grandparents. They were Granny Jenny and Grandpa John (Papa's dad and step-mom), Granny O (Papa's Mom), and Granny Wilma and Big Papa (Granny's parents).

When we have kids, my Mom wants to be yia-yia and my Dad said that he wants to be "Uncle Ed," but my Mom is trying to talk him into Poppy. Not sure what the in-laws want to be called. DH's grandmother is still with us and she is "Mimi."
