What do your dogs bark at??

My dog never used to bark much when she was younger. She barks more now, but not a lot. Most of the time she doesn't bark at other dogs, only certain kinds, like the german shepards next door. She also barks when she's laying by the front door and someone's coming up our driveway that she doesn't know. She also barks when you get her excited and tell her to speak, or if she has to go to the bathroom and no one is getting up to let her out.

Mine too. And the Swiffer. She actually attacks the vacuum. It has bite marks all over it. Needless to say, I vacuum only when absolutely necessary, because it always results in a migraine.

I have not 1 but 2 Dachshunds.....they bark at Dogs that Bark on TV!!!:earseek: When I let them out at 3 or 4 in the morning, its dark outside, so I guess they Bark because it is Dark outside. I than have to coax them into the house, with food, and than they Stop barking, but Pee and Poop on the floor, I have NO IDEA WHY I let them out that early, except maybe to wake the WHOLE neighborhood!!!::yes::

My beagle barks at other dogs that go by the house and the occasional delivery person. He usually doesn't bark at the average passerby, which is good since we live near a walking path.

Otherwise, he's pretty quiet. When my dog see the vacuum, he runs and hides, LOL.

Jack Russel terrier here. She barks at everything too ;)

You should hear her when I put something in the laptop and turn the sound on!:earseek:

We have a Flat Coated Retriever and he does not bark much.

He does bark at motorcycles. Our neighbors are both police officers and they both have bikes and so do all there friends so we often have cycles on our street.

Today, DH is moving our fence over (getting a double wide driveway to accomodate RV) and a motorcycle came by and Jazz ran right out in front of it!

Jazz and the two people on that bike sure were lucky today, it was a close call!!

Wishing everyone a "magical" day!

1 Mutt
1 Yellow Lab
1 Bernese Mountain Dog
1 Landseer Newfoundland

They bark at EVERYTHING....and nothing....

EVERYTHING

Don't get me started!! :teeth:

1 Yorkie
1 Maltese

None of our 3 are barkers, just lucky that way I guess. There is the one that has to try to round-up the sprinklers or whatever she is doing.

The youngest of the bunch does bark at people he doesn't know and has been known to get all bent out of shape protecting us from some of our evil stuffed toys. One time my parents visited, they arrived at about 2am and went to sleep. He was in my DD's room sleeping, first thing he did when he got up was go to the door of the room they were in and start bellowing. Good to know he was there to protect us, I quess as long as burglers come in when he's awake he'll be on alert.

Our older Bichon rarely barks, she has a deep bark for such a sweet dog but we've only heard it a couple of times.

I have an 11 1/2 year old cocker spaniel that has never barked a "real' bark in his life. He has this tiny little arf that he almost never uses but he does howl occasionally - he stops the minute he sees me so I know it is something to get attention.

My dog barks when people leave our house!! I guess she just loves company:crazy:

My westie barks at everything! But she especially likes to bark at the mailman, the trash man, and the UPS man. It must be the uniforms! She also likes to bark at trucks of all sizes.

My golden barks only at people....people with the unmitigated nerve to run by 'his' house, people next door getting in or out of their car, anyone that comes near the house, including my dh and dd!! According to my dh...the dog only barks when I'm home. Never barks (or seldom) when I'm out. Must be guarding me...but from my family?? I think I have the only barking golden retriever.

Our pooch barks at EVERYTHING!! My personal favorite is when he barks at NOTHING!!

We have a 4-month-old papillon puppy named George that doesn't bark much, except when one of our doors open. However, last night (3 am) he stood up in the middle of the bed and started barking towards the door, but NOTHING was there!!! Kind of scared me, being that my husband was out of town! YIKES!!

He a cutie and loves to have his picture taken!

We have 9 Airedales, and while they aren't particularily noisey, the do bark at specific times and at specific things. I call them my door bells, because I always know when someone is in the driveway. They also bark at squirels and chipmunks, other dogs, and ME when they think I am not getting their dinner ready fast enough! The worst is when they hear a siren and all start howling!

The Border Collie we had did this, it wasn't too bad at our old house but when we moved we are less than a mile from the Fire Station. She couldn't get around very good due to age but she still howled.
