Whatever's handy - napkin, deposit slip, page from a note pad, post-it, palm of my hand....

That's me! :thumbsup2

we did something different.......Made a list on the computer ....AISLE one....AISLE TWO......and so on and the list of items in that AISLE that we regularly use.....or the word OTHER...and I put it on the fridge......when I run out I circle the item......or add the item to OTHER....in the right aisle of course...that way I have it always in front of me and know where I am going.....works well....hubby makes 52 copies at a time for me and I have them for a year at least

Couldn't do that at my grocery store, they change the aisles around too much. :headache:

I have those magnetic pad list things on my fridge and I just add to it whenever I see or remember that I need something, then just pull off that tiop sheet an dtake it with me.

Me too- they are very handy. Until NSDBF (NS= not so) takes them to the computer to use as scrap.

Shh, don't let my boss know - I write them on my guest check pad from work

I did not even think of that until I read it, but we are always using our pads to make lists- target, walmart, christmas, groceries- anything but a guests order.:lmao:

Nothing-- I try to remember it but don't, so I always forget something critical, which of course I don't realize till I get home. Then I say some bad words. :)

I have a Disney magnetic fridge notepad that I always use! I got it for $1 at Target not too long ago!:thumbsup2

I have a couple of those, too. :)

We have a white board in the kitchen that we write down anything we need to buy. Making the running list on a paper that we can then bring to the store doesn't work so well for us because I like to have my list organized by when I come across the items in the store and that all depends if I'm going to Giant or Safeway, so we write things on the white board and transfer to a list before going to the store.

I buy steno pads for my grocery lists. I also have a magnet pad on the fridge that I write things on when I think of them. Everything gets trasferred to the steno pad along with stuff I circle in the sale ad. When I write it down it's all in order with the number of the aisle next to each item so I never have to backtrack.

On DH's shirt.:teeth:
He does the food shopping.

Joanne he does all the shopping and he cooks too?

He's a keeper for sure.

I use a notebook. I having a running list at all times. If I'm in the store and they are out of something that was on my list I just turn the page and it's already on for next weeks shopping.

I'm glad to see that there other nerds out there like me that actually write their grocery lists via computer and print them out. My mother always makes fun of me for it. :upsidedow

I voted envelope. I use the ones from my paystub or the ones that come with bogus CC offers. This way I can make my list, put a "C" by the items I have a coupon for and then tuck the coupon in the envelope!

After years of forgetting everything I NEEDED and buying items I did NOT NEED, I decided to take a different approach....

I started a list on my computer saved on "my documents"....it took me a few weeks to put everything we use on a pretty regular basis on the computer list.

Now whenever anyone in the house, DH, or either DS', head out, I print the list off and look it over and then they (or I) get exactly what I need.

Having all males in the house and then having them say I am running to the store..."do you need anything?"...I need to be able to have a list ready quick because I absolutely undeniably HATE grocery shopping. If I can get someone in this house to do it for me, I am insanely happy!! :yay: And my guys do not like to WAIT for me to ponder, think, look in the refridge, write things down etc etc....:sad2:

Print the list off, check it off and it is good to go!!! :thumbsup2

Ya, I know this sounds nerdy but heck I am not in the grocery store doing the horrid shopping!! Now if I could get someone to put the groceries away when the DS' return with them, I will be in 7th heaven!!!!!!!!

That's a really good idea. I use a paper clip and it's always falling off.

Wow, thanks for a great idea!

I checked "new piece of paper", but it's always the same kind. I use those long skinny notepads that charities send you to try to guilt you into donating to them.

We throw away the return address stickers, but we use the notepads. :thumbsup2

we seldom make an actual list, except when doing one large meal likethanksgiving/christmas, when we get things we normally dont buy,

but we do my grannie shopping and every single week her grocery list is written on the back of a bank deposit slip. complete with all her preprinted account numbers and everything else. thankfully we trust the nieghbor who goes when dw and i dont.

Usually just a scrap piece a paper that is lying around - nothing too exciting :lmao:

Another "nerd" checking in... I have an Excel spreadsheet in the order of the aisles at the store, but I have it on my PDA so it's portable! I love grocery shopping!

Is someone a little bored today? I use a special grocery notepad, but if those run out....a sheet of computer paper.

I also use the envelope/coupon holder idea. I use old mail envelopes so I'm recycling them in my mind, lol!

I'm bored every day, but at least this is a G rated thread!

But it was mainly because I knew if my DH used the back of the tissue strip that he was going to run into all our neighbors who would think that I
gave him the grocery store list... :rotfl2:

I use the old envelopes when I use envelopes, too.
