What do you WISH you were getting for Valentines?

I have gotten over most of this stuff. DH is not so good with holidays, he even totally forgot my birthday one year, which, ok maybe, but not when you keep talking about your own which is 2 days later. I make a list for Christmas and most other times we just eat out and do cards. For Valentine's we usually go out a day near the 14th to a nicer place then normal, and then on V-day we get take away or takeout.
On the other hand, he gets up every other day with the little guy (almost 3) so I can sleep in. He does a lot of the laundry, and doesn't complain about the mess the house is, even though I am a stay at home mom. Any time I ask him to help out with something else he does, and sometimes I don't have to ask. We also have a date night weekly, just a night where we get to go out without the kids, nothing fancy, but scheduled time together. Oh and most important he lets me go to Disney just about any time I say we can afford it!

I am posting this from my new i pad that DH bought me as a combo Valentines Day/Birthday gift. He is so awesome with gifts, he always gets me great stuff. He didn,t try to surprise me with the iPad because he wanted me to pick it out and get the one that I wanted, and he even let me have it as soon as it came rather than waiting (my bday is 2/28). He is really very sweet and always does nice things for me through the year....no complaints here!

What I want goes against all Valentine's Day gift "rules".... I would really love to have a Nutrimill so I can grind my own flour. And then possibly a bread maker. And a nice Kitchenaid stand mixer. Yes, I would like KITCHEN APPLIANCES! :scared1: :goodvibes

BUT... we have so much going on right now that we aren't doing gifts for VD this year. We have a Disney trip coming up in June and then we're trying to squeeze in a kid-less quick trip back to Disney in October. We also are trying to get a new Tempurpedic bed at some point in the near future. So kitchen appliances have to be put on hold. We also just bought a new Dyson (well, DH did)... we adopted a Golden retriever in August who sheds like CRAZY... :scared1: DH has really been wanting a Dyson and finally got it.

If we can squeeze about $250 out of the budget at some point in the near future, I will get my grain mill. That's what I want the most out of the 3. But it won't be for V-day. Then my birthday will be during our June trip, and I'll get another Disney Dooney then. If we weren't going in June, I might ask for another one for V-day. ;)

Funny you say u want kitchen stuff. DH bought me a rice cooker for our first married Valentine's day. I was thrilled, he knew how much I wanted one and actually listened to me.

My guy isn't into big romance, but plays along for Vday. I love flowers, so he always gets me a pretty ones from our local grocery store, which I love, he knows I don't need to have them delivered . He always buys me a funny card, he knows I don't like the mushy mushy ones, so he caught onto that early in our relationship. Last year he got me a massage, but with the groupon and bargain bee deals these days, he knows not to pay full price for a gift card as I can get really good deals .

The only thing I asked for is the build a bear love bear this year, which is silly but DS8 saw it on a commercial and is convinced I need it. So I told DH to take DS shopping, I know he will get a kick out of making it for me and recording a Valentine message. I have a cpl of Valentine Bears from years past, I only put them out in my DH's old child rocking chair for Valentine's . This will complete the collection.

No dinner out this year, I plan on cooking a nice dinner and making special treats for the guys.

We are putting in an outdoor kitchen soon, so anything big would take away from our budget . : )

My wish is for something a human can't do. A warm (70-90 degrees) sunny day with no precip and beautiful green grass.

Hey a girl can dream, can't she.

OP since you are looking for ideas, last year DH got me a massage envy membership.

Other than books, stuff on my wishlist is a camera bag from jototes.com, this glass popper that makes popcorn in the microwave (have an air popper but I'm lazy) Mad About You DVDs and I kinda dig this necklace: http://www.amycornwell.com/store/cart.php?m=product_detail&p=876

oh and Bobbi Brown make up.

Oh, and I've wanted these bookends forever:

Believe or not, I'm not really into Valentine's Day (or Sweetest Day for that matter). If I want something, I go ahead and buy it. I don't wait or hint around for my DH to get me something. I'm the one who usually forgets to buy him a card, but I don't need or want to make a big deal about VD day. I think it's more for people who are single and dating instead of long-time married folks.

Actually DH and I don't celebrate it either, but I just posted my wishlist because OP was getting very little in the way of actual gift suggestions.

More DVC points.

That's what DH gave me for my b-day in 2006.

OH no, 17 yrs in now, i would be sad if we gave up a little extra fun on valentine's day .

My Dad bought my Mom emerald earrings for Valentine's , she is going to lose her mind . Daddy is 85 , I know my Mom will be very happy that he doesn't feel like it is only for single or dating couples.

I really want DH to take me on the Haunted Las Vegas ghost tour :) I drug him on one in Hawaii and I had so much fun and loved it. I've been begging him since to go on the one here, but we haven't gone yet. Not very romantic and I don't even care if it's on V-day, but I do all kinds of stuff I don't want to do with him (watch sports stuff, go to and watch UFC, etc) so I really hope he does something I really want to do.

:lovestruc:love::cloud9:

That is soooo sweet! I hope my DH still does sweet things at 85! I hope your Mama has a wonderful Valentines.

I would of liked it if my husband joined the Dis and surfed the BB and saw the coach outlet sale link and bought me the coach hipster bag I have sitting in my closet. Oh wait, I read his mind and got it myself!! Now I just have to pass it off as something I already had! I think it might be big enough to hold my netbook too.

I want a brand new red car................oh wait.........I AM getting that, I am picking it up tomarrow :woohoo:.

Of course, I need a new car, it JUST happened to be close to Valentine's Day, but I did get to pick it out fully loaded with more gadgets that I possibly can learn to use, so I feel very special.

you don't need someone to stay with your kids. Each od them can stay over with a friend. at the friend's house.....how about that?

I'd love it but that never seems to happen. DD11 is painfully shy and has never been invited to a sleepover. DD16 rarely, we seem to be the sleeepover house for her friends. DD9 the sleepovers haven't started with her group of friends yet. But that would be perfect if that worked out!

Us too, married 17 and together 20, I still love Valentines Day. Sure I love that every day he walks in and calls me beautiful, even if I am a mess from running kids around, or that he takes me out on a date every single week, or how he holds me every night till I fall asleep, but I still like that one day, I don't know why, but I do and even though he could do without it, I'm happy he does it for me.

I have a great husband. We've been married 24 years. He already does most of the laundry and cleaning. We don't typically exchange Valentine's Day gifts but I requested a day of "pampering." Not the cooking and cleaning part but I asked him for when we go about our normal business to have him open the doors for me - including car door and pull out my chair for me when we're at the bar watching basketball. I don't want any special things, I just want a day of special treatment. I love my husband like crazy but the little things have really gotten lost over the years and I want one day of them back!

I'm changing my mind, I want a car too:)

I want an edible arrangement. One with lots of chocolate covered strawberries and pineapple. Yumm :)

GREAT birthday gift!

DH told me last night at 8:30pm on his way home from working late yet again that he now has to go out of town Sunday-Wednesday. Ugh. I jokingly asked him what he was going to do to make up for not being here for Valentine's Day and suggested he call our guide for another Add-On! (He didn't find that nearly as funny as I did.)
