What do you wear to dinner?

Several questions...about 1TS restaurants.

When your are at a park and have dinner reservations at that park, do you go back to the hotel to change or just go as you are? At the end of a long day, hair & makeup may be far from perfect but the idea of going back to the hotel isn't appealing either.

Do you dress up more for resort restaurants than park dinner restaurants?

Are there any 1TS restaurants where you could not go in shorts and sandals?

I was considering bringing a hairbrush, lipstick, washcloth to at least freshen up. I'd love to get your tips.

We almost ALWAYS go back to our resort and freshen up. Unless you are really pressed for time, I highly recommend that you take a break to go back to your resort, swim, rest, shower, and then go to your evening meal. It makes it so much more relaxing, which is something that I think we forget to do while at Disney sometimes  If you really think it will be a complete waste of your time to go back to your resort, what you wear in the parks should suffice for any 1 TS restaurant, and that sounds like a good idea to bring a hairbrush and a washcloth. Maybe even some of that body spray deoderant to freshen you up. (I know I sweat like a pig down there:rotfl: )

Hi!

If I'm at the park all day - I go as I am. Generally, though, I wear a nice pair of shorts and a nice shirt whenever I am at Disney. I do not wear t-shirts nor tank tops. I bring a hairbrush, but mainly because my hair is long and can look straggly - my chapstick has some color to it and I use it all day so (as my husband's grandmother says) my lips don't look like worms.

I like to look nice at dinner, so if we're at a resort, I do dress more nicely, but nothing like a dress. Sometimes I'll wear a (very) casual skirt or cropped pants (depending on the restaurant) - for others I wear nice shorts and a nice shirt.

I can't think of any 1TS restaurants offhand where you'd feel uncomfortable in shorts and sandals.

As a side note, I saw a man with a tank top and denim shorts at California Grill (my husband was in a tie, jacket, and pants) and while he looked out of place, no one kicked him out or anything!

I hope this helped you with your decision-making! Have a great time!

There are only a handful of restaurants that are labeled "dress casual". When my DH is on vacation, his getting "dressed up" for them is his good jeans and a polo shirt. They are only at resorts, Artist Point and Jiko are two of them.

Most people do not dress up for meals at Disney World, and I wouldn't go back to my resort "just" to change for dinner. Park attire is what you'll see most people wearing. Shorts, jeans, tshirts, sandals...all fine.

Unless its something you enjoy, or feel compelled to do, dont bother dressing for dinner (except for the few exceptions of the sig rest. Its a family theme parks resort. THere will be plenty of peeps who dont bother to change. I know I couldnt be bothered with it, but that's just me:confused3

I don't plan on going back to the hotel because it will take me too long to go back and then take another but to get to the restaurant. Maybe if I was staying at AKL and had reservations for Jiko or something like that I would.

I'll just wash the sweat off my face in the ladies room, brush my hair, put some powder and lip gloss on, and go.

I dress up like a princess. I wear a gown and tie my hair nicely.
