My husband and I will be eating there for the first time in December! It will be just the two of us and I can't wait. Ladies, did you wear a cute dress to the restaurant? If it's our one night out without the kids I think I'd like to dress up a little!

You can certainly dress up, but just be aware that there will be others who are NOT dressed up. You will see shorts, t-shirts and flip-flops.

Mrs U usually wears capris or jeans, with a light sweater or tank-top style blouse, and sneakers.
I wear tan slacks, polo shirt and loafers.

There is a dress code. Usually, my husband will wear a collared shirt, often short sleeves and either khaki pants, or dress pants. I wear a sundress and the kids are similar. Some people are really dressed nicely! No flip flops men! Nice sandals for ladies!

you def will not feel out of place if you dress up. More people make an effort then don't. But its basically a smart casual dress code unlike V&A in the Grand Floridian which is very dressy. I think its nice when people make the effort instead of strolling in from the park. :bride:

I have seen ppl in resort wear and ppl dressed up, we tend to dress up, the ambiance and food is upscale and it just feels nice after wearing shorts and flip flops all day to dress up, relax and enjoy the amazing view and food!

I wear skirt or capri's and nice top & DH wears docker type pants and collared shirt. Both wear sandals. You'll see some in shorts but since it's special to us, we like to dress up a little. Going to enjoy another meal there in Dec.....

I like to dress up a bit. I wear dress and nice sandal. I have DS and DH wear their polo shirts and khaki/plaid pants/shorts. I think dressing up for the night also brings in more experience of the restaurant. :goodvibes

Our last experience there was that it was VERY COLD in the restaurant. Be sure to bring a small cover up so you dont freeze. :)

We always dress nicely. Polo type shirt and khaki shorts for me with nice sneakers. DW usually wears a light dress and nice sandals.

We like to go back to the room and refresh, shower and dress for dinner, but nothing too over the top, we are still on vacation in Florida ;)

since we fly I have to be frugal in packing, so my jewelry pieces are what I rely on. I wore a khaki capri and shell with earring studs and watch for our day in MK and then changed out for a bolder necklace, bracelets, and earrings. We don't go back to the resort for a change of clothes. If you can, then sky's the limit for you and it's so nice to pamper yourself that way:thumbsup2

I agree with you. I'll have to do it this way as well because we dont have a car and will most likely be coming right from MK directly to CG to eat. I dont want to go to my resort (at POP) then back to the MK area by bus just to eat. I'll make sure my "park wear" is nicer than the usual. And i'll dress it up by bringing nicer jewlery and even a nicer pair of sandals in my backpack (platform/high sandals). ;)

I always try to wear pants. The couple times I forgot it was a little uncomfortable, maybe even embarrassing ... Even some talk of police and such. Can you imagine?

I will definitely have a jacket with me. We will be there in early December so I'm assuming it'll be cold out! Thanks for the advice!

I was going to post something similar. I have a sundress and white sandals that will be nice, dd basically the same, dh will wear a short sleeve button up and khakis. Which brings me to my question.. will ds be ok in a nice short sleeve button up shirt and tan dress shorts? I am hoping shorts aren't an issue for him (he's 7) because I'd hate to take him from the Boardwalk all the way to the Contemporary in long pants. He'd be miserable in the August heat.

just remember even with a dress code it's a theme park and it's florida. a lot of people will be dressed more casual but just as many will be in your typical going on a date slacks, sun to club dresses etc... when my husband and i went in 07 he went business casual, i wore slacks and a sleeveless top. when my sister and i went this past december we were dressed as you would think of going out with your girlfriends but it was sooooo cold we both ended up with sweatshirts over what we were wearing...they happily seated us, served us, and took our money without batting an eye. so go however you're comfortable. think of it as you do the rest of your disney trip...make it your own and you'll be happy.

We have been a few times, the first time I wore a sundress and sandals, the other 2 times we were going to MK after so I wore shorts and a tee with flip flops...and trust me I felt over dressed compared to other diners

Totally ditto on what everyone else has said. First time, we were staying at Poly, so I went back to the room and changed into a nice dress and sandals before going to CG. Second time (and after seeing how casual many folks go - e.g., in park attire), I wore a sundress to MK that day, with my trusty (matching) Keen Newports. I planned to return to the car to change the shoes into flats, but we had a hard time getting the kids out of the park (no, really?) and I didn't have time to change my shoes, so in Keen Newports I went to CG. :rotfl: It was fine, not only did no one bat an eye, but there were plenty of folks in sneakers, etc.

Shorts are fine for anyone/everyone - kids, men and women.

DH normally wears cargo shorts, button down disney shirt and sneakers. I usually wear khaki shorts, plain cotton top and crocs. Sometimes I will wear a sundress but only if that is what I wore to the parks.

This Sept we are dining there before MNSSHP and we plan on wearing our costumes to dinner.

Jeans and a t-shirt, and 'sandal-style rather than pool-style' flip flops (not that they're very visible anyway under my jeans).
