What do you wear at Disney?

I have a chip and dale shirt, and I also have a shirt that says "Mrs. Jack Sparrow" on it. Fantastic. I love that shirt. But I also have a Tinkerbell baseball hat thats cute. But my mickey Pirate ears are my fav.

I have enough WDW t-shirts to wear one everyday of my trip, even when we go for a week. I wear these exclusively on our trips, and I have a WDW sweatshirt that I do switch out with my red sox sweatshirt. For those rainy days, I have a WDW windbreaker/slicker jacket that I wear. My DH has a DL longsleeve t-shirt that he almost only wears when we're somewhere disneyesque. He sticks to college basketball t-shirts while we're there, but he does have a WDW baseball hat that he only wears when we're at somewhere Disney related.
Most of my weekend clothes are WDW clothes- my t-shirts I mean, so I do wear them all year. I prefer to wear WDW stuff as opposed to generic Disney t-shirts (I only have 1 non-WDW Disney shirt).

We didn't do this every day, but 2 days we wore matching Disney outfits. We had some magical moments those days, so I'm thinking that had something to do with it:

We have a "mixed marriage" here in Alabama - I'm an Alabama alumni and DH roots for Auburn. One day at Disney I wore my Alabama shirt and he wore his Auburn shirt. This was the last week of September and Auburn was ranked #2 (before they got beat by Arkansas). We heard "WAR EAGLE" all day long! I got one measly "Roll Tide".

We like to dress in themes; see the pic in my sig - that's Animal Kingdom day. DH wears that hat exclusively in Animal Kingdom!

We would never dress like such dorks outside of DisneyWorld - but we enjoy it while we're in another "World"!

both types and some completely plain.

just depends upon how I feel that morning when I am dressing.

wear my Disney stuff more to work than here. They are golf shirts so work allows them. most have mickey.... I am always looking for goofy and he only appears on golf shirts that I can't afford - expensive....

also wear my DVC Resort golf shirts.....

OKW has finally caught on that members like the resort name not just DVC. but they are only so far putting it on T-shirt - can't wear that to work - so patiently waiting for them to put it on golf shirts....

Only buy something if I can wear to Disney and work. :artist:

For my upcoming trip, I've packed plain v-neck, short-sleeved Lands End shirts I got in the Spring that are really comfy, as well as couple of pairs shorts, pair of yoga paints, a pair of jeans, well broken in sneakers, pair of pajama pants and a fleece zip coat. The only Disney item I have is a t-shirt that I'll wear to bed. I like to keep what I wear at WDW simple. I have several Disney t-shirts at home from various visits that I'll wear at home, but I don't tend to wear them at WDW.

You can do both. You can wear something disney, shirts are always fun (GO TO WALMART FIRST) and get cheap ones so your not paying as much as the ones in the park, and walmart has nice ones.

But you can also get some mickey ears or tiaras or something like that in the park which is fun to wear around. But also keep in mind that good walking shoes are the way to go. Always wear good walking shoes. Something broken in.

I'd have to say "both" too, but I think I wear my Disney stuff more at WDW than outside of it. I guess it just "fits in" more there. :) My only real clothing rule there is to be comfortable!! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the attire tips. These will certainly come in handy for my trip in January. (I'm a Disney virgin :cloud9: )

Can anyone comment on whether there is a dress code for the clubs and bars in Downtown Disney and Pleasure Island? Will I need dressier attire, and (yikes!) heels?

We tend to wear some character stuff. Not sports stuff. It just wouldn't occur to me. Maybe if something big was going on while we were there..but probably not even then. I admit that often enough during a trip, I'll buy something Disney, so I'll wear it during the trip. Wearing something Disney sort of puts me in the 'kid' mode. But I avoid the really extreme stuff - like Goofy ears. Some days I wear more basic things, too.

Having good pockets is important to me, so I try to do that most days.

The funny thing to me is that you see LOTS of Disney stuff at WDW. At Paris Disney, there were very few people wearing Disney clothes/stuff. It was kind of strange that way.

We'd NEVER do the whole family in matching shirts thing. Yuck! Not for us!

I just wear whatever clothes that I just happen to throw in my backpack. I don't think I have any Disney-themed clothes.

I saw a few people wear Eagles jerseys, and said to them "Go Eagles!" :D

I just got back Nov. 11th from Walt Disney World where I spent a week. I have so many Disney related shirts & t-shirts. I wore a different one every day. I got comments on a couple of them. I also wore my Minnie ears & my pin-trading lanyard. I looked cute. I also looked like a walking advertisement for Walt Disney World. I wouldn't have it any other way.

My sis and i ususally do a mixture, too. I always have one day that i wear a tshirt with my  Patriots on it. Also usually buy a new shirt at Animal Kingdom (love the earth tones) and will wear that the next day. but always have a Disney visor on!!!

We try and match. I know crazy but one thing is for sure, if we get seperated. The boys always remember what someone in the group is wearing. We tend to remember as well. THe boys wore their Rich Rod football camp shirts. We all wore our West Virginia shirts (met a cast member from WV) they all wore Army PT Shirts! Then we wore our 2006 Disney shirts on New Years Day! What a great photo that is!

Now with just the two of us returning. Who knows what we will wear! :lovestruc

Being a former TDS cast member, let's just say I have quite a few items
of Disney clothing. Add the clothing I've bought on trips to Disney, and
I can wear Disney items every day of my trip.

I wear one of my Disney watches everyday, too. :thumbsup2

But...

When I go to Pleasure Island (mostly for the Adventurers Club), I'll be
wearing something suitable for nighttime, rather than theme park, for
the most part.

Oh, and I bought Pal Mickey the Bears uniform sold at Build a Bear.
I really couldn't help myself there. :)

I usually wear Disney shirts while at WDW. That is part of the fun for me. I once was wearing my Figment shirt while at Epcot. I noticed Figment standing by himself so I went to get my picture taken with him. He was so excited about my shirt and I had forgot that I was even wearing it. Oh, I also even have some disney pj's that I save just for my trips.

I wear regular ladies' blouses and shorts and capris. I have one Disney shirt that I wear to/from the water parks, but that's it. I do wear a Red Sox ballcap on bad hair days.

:thumbsup2

I usually wear something Disney or sports relate. Wearing LSU Tiger shirts always starts conversations with people. Geaux Tigers! :cheer2:

My latest purchase was Captain Jack T-shirts. pirate: !

I always wear Disney clothes - it's my only time to wear them! Not appropriate for the office, and I don't usually wear t-shirts when I go out.
