I'm looking for some good gift ideas -- for me. My birthday is next week, and people keep asking me what I want. I've been too busy in the last couple of weeks to give it much thought.

What would you guys want? Maybe you can give me some good ideas for myself!

Is your user name any indication of your interests? If so - and for me - it would be BOOKS - lots and lots of books!

Also, scrapbook supplies; maybe a GC to a craft store; or better yet, one of those new gift cards for Southwest Airlines!!!! Can be bought in any denomination over ten dollars, so they wouldn't feel like they had to fork over the cost of an entire plane ticket.. :flower:

I want someone to pay off my credit cards! :rotfl:

I always have a hard time figuring out what I want. I didn't think I was hard to buy for but maybe I am. Although I'm usually happy with whatever I get.

Ask for gift cards, then you can go shopping when you think of things you want/need. :flower:

I would love it if DH would buy me DIsney admission.

Disney Dollars

Easton Press has 2 new Disney books I would love to have

Actually anything Disney is a good gift for me. :teeth:

I'm currently having this problem as well. DH asked for a list, which I did provide, but nothing on it is anything I'm dying to get. I guess it just means I have everything I really want, but he says I'm not making it very much fun for him. :rotfl: I'm not a candy/flowers/jewelry kind of gal---more of an electronics nut, but there's nothing new in the electronic world this year that I really want or need!

You're in D.C., right? You want tickets to see The Nutcracker at The Kennedy Center -- definitely! In fact, any tickets for any show at The Kennedy Center would be my choice. :goodvibes

I agree with this. I would love books or gc's to Barnes & Noble.

I also love restaurant gift certificates. I don't know how old you are or if you have kids, but having a 3 year old and another one on the way, I love a night out where I don't have to cook.

The one thing I would really want (but DH would never do it...he would think it is a waste of money since we can do it ourselves) is a really clean house.....I would love it if on my birthday he would hire someone else to clean my home from top to bottom....including the windows and window coverings, mop, scrub tile, dust, wash light fixtures, everything.....hmmm, a girl can dream :cloud9:

Yes, I love books. My husband and I love books so much that there are about 20 boxes of books sitting in our shed right now (covered in plastic to keep out rain and bugs) because we just don't have room for them! Much as I love to read, I'm trying to stay away from buying more books until I figure out what to do with all the ones we already have.

The iPod is a good idea. I just got a new job that will involve spending about an hour a day on the Metro, so it would be great to have something to listen to. I'll have to look into Kennedy Center events...

Thanks for all the suggestions so far, and keep them coming!!

I haven't 'wanted' something in a long time. But when I saw the ad for that new Cingular phone with the Ipod built in! Ohh, I REALLY want one!!

I would LOVE this more than anything.

Life is just too hard sometimes. :rotfl:

I want
a video camera
disney trivia dvd game
Faith Hill cd
M&M stuff (I collect it)
The book Round Ireland with a Fridge
"On his only prior visit to Ireland, English songwriter-comic Tony Hawks had seen a man hitchhiking with a refrigerator. For years, he was wont to tell the tale during late-night drinking matches, and after one particularly heavy-duty night of partying, he awoke to find a bet scrawled pillowside: a friend wagered 100 pounds that Hawks wouldn't travel Ireland for a month with a refrigerator at his side."

A portrait of you and your Dh. I love it when they do it with black and white film.

A night of romance. Have your Dh take you on a date, but he must do it from the start. You know like ask you out just like he did when you two went out on your first date. Then he must plan the entire evening, but it can't be just an ordinary date, he must plan it to impress you. Now that he does know your likes and dislikes, it should make it easier for him. And as a hint for him, the two of you may end up staying overnight at a very romantic hotel. Needless to say, the gift he would be giving you is to fall in love with him all over again or fall deeper in love with him, you get the jest of it.

A romantic weekend getaway. Similar to the above, but the process goes through the weekend.

If you have read them, you can donate them. Our library accepts book donations and than they resell them and the money goes towards the library.

How about asking for a gift certificate for a cleaning service? (DO they even do those?) I know when we both worked I would have loved just to have someone come in and vacuum, mop, and clean the bathroom.

I love cooking. DH can always get me some kitchen stuff I don't have. I'd rather have that than some bath stuff I never use. Yes, I know I'm wierd.
