What do you want to see at CRV

Heck, some Imagineer you would be. :rolleyes1
Remember the words of the late Imagineer Randy Bright, who said in reference to the Journey Into Imagination Pavillion, "If your concept has to break the rules, then go ahead, break all the rules." :thumbsup2

I guess I've forgotten what it means to be an Imagineer since I haven't heard the Horizons theme song for a really long time...

If we can dream it, then we can do it, yes we can, (yes we can.)

Okay, here we go...let's put 2 WEDways in on the fourth floor with one leading into the transportation area of the Grand Canyon concourse for connecting with the Express Monorail to the TTC and other connections, and the other connecting with TTA in Tomorrowland (yes, that's right...an exclusive DVC entrance to the MK). Guests from Tomorrowland can ride roundtrip to the Villas because they will already have entered the park or they can exit at the station and see a preview of the DVC property. Anybody using this WEDway will have their passports scanned prior to departing for Tomorrowland. :Pinkbounc

And...let's make sure George McGinnis has a hand in designing it.

They are the words from Horizons; but the true words that sparked that line were these words:
"If you can visualize it, if you can dream it, there's some way to do it." Walt Disney, 1954
I have this quote and few other quotes from Walt hanging in my office. I get many postive comments from co workers regarding Walt's quotes.

1) A pool with the theme of SAB.
2) Sleek looking apartment-feel rooms, like someone mentioned earlier. I understand that they need to cater to children, but at the same time a lot of the DVC resorts do cater to children already.
3) A restaurant like the CG most definitely.
4) Good transportation obviously.
5) A good gift shop and counter service grab-and-go style food.

Can't wait to find out more information on the upcoming villas! Good thread.

a WED people mover - oh yea!!!

but also want a way to walk over.

plus any direct connection might made the folks staying in the wings mad... I mean they are staying in the same resort and don't have a direct connection.

a nicer swimming pool than the one at VWL (although it is cute) or BCV.

I guess a restuarant might be nice - but CR has 3 restuarants and a snack bar already. I don't know if they need another one. BWV doesn't have one at all.

Since VWL doesn't have a community hall - CR definitely needs one.

I don't like the gym at CR - I hope DVC updates it.

ALL Queen or King size beds, no sofa beds or full size!

Great boys themed character meal

Private entrance to MK

Fantastic pool with water slide

and, most of all....ME

Now that s a great idea - a dedicated Wedway to tomorrowland :thumbsup2
Also it needs a great slide for the kids (and adults) into the pool:goofy:

Don't ask me how I found this, but I thought it would be great to revisit now that CRV is real and called (gasp) BLT :lmao:

I'm amazed at how close we got some of those things.

In hindsight, we talked way too much about a motorized wedway people mover, and far too little about sensible room layouts, and spacious studios.

UH, did I miss something?

Are they really building a new DVC resort at the Contemporary?

I didn't see anything about it at DVC News. When is it supposed to be started/completed?

The original post was from 2006. Just revisiting to see if people got what they wanted!:thumbsup2

OK good.
We're getting ready to do a BLT add-on, but if a new one was going up I thought we might want to wait.

Nah, that was pretty much all me, he writes while reviving an 8-year-old thread, 4 years after the last time it was revived.

Hey, didn't mean to point to you specifically. There was also talk of roof top pools and other fanciful stuff. We didn't think about Jim Lewis going ultra cheap on the furniture or putting the bathroom sink in the kitchen. I guess that was my point. It was more of a dig about the missteps that were being talked about at the time.

I finally stayed at BLT in December. The studio wasn't nearly as tight as I had feared, but was very glad that they moved the bathroom sink. The very thought of that was just gross.
