We just got a Disney VISA (chase) and we've been using it as much as we can (with the 1% it's kind of slow going).

I was wondering what you all use your rewards points for. Food?

I used mine at Pizza Port. I fed all 8 of us, including drinks, with only $2.49 coming out of pocket. That felt really good at the time. ;)

After the Disneyland Half Marathon I had something ,like $300 rewards dollars. I took my entire family that came to support me to dinner at Story Tellers and picked up the entire bill with my free money. Then I still had about $80 left for a few more meals the next day for my daughter, son in law, husband and me.

Normally I use them to buy free souvineers. In the past I have gotten a leather jacket, a $100 very small DL train, costumes for my grand daughter and smaller items too.

Oh I almost forgot I think they pay more than 1% on some purchases. It seems to add up for me way to fast to be only 1%. I charge lots and pay it off since I manage it all online with my bank account. I never carry a balance either!

We didn't have much on our last trip to spend because we have switched to using a Capital One miles card. But we still managed to rack up $80. We bought a nice lunch at Cafe Orleans for 3 of us. Lunch the next day at Corndog Castle for 3 of us and lunch the final day for all 4 of us at Whitewater snacks. Not bad for free $$! Kids had saved up $40 each for souvies. Tickets were purchased with our saved Disney jar money, time share was free (in-laws own it), we drove so that was about $375 total for gas. Mom had given us $200 and that paid for all the extras- snacks, 2 small souvies for me, meals on the road etc.

We brought our breakfast foods with us and ate in the hotel. Dinner was served most nights by the pool at our time share so we spent nothing on meals in the parks. We did buy lots of our favorite snacks though- mickey rice krispie treats, popcorn, churros, dole whips and tigger tails!!

It was the cheapest trip we've ever taken!! Sorry, I get so carried away talking about this trip because I couldn't believe how well we came out.

We generally use the card for all the big stuff and so we rack up quite a few points every couple of years. We use them for meals in the Disney parks. It's like free food! That way, we can eat at more expensive places than we would have normally.

For instance, DH and I just got back from WDW. We used our points and had free meals at 'Ohana, Boma, and Les Chefs Du France, and part of a meal at Le Cellier before we used up our points. :thumbsup2

I save mine for a year or so and then use it all for our AP's. I usually have enough for two. Luckily since DD works there she doesn't need one anymore;) so it pays for DH & I. I think this is the third year - we renew on Main Street right when you enter the park.
