What do you use instead of fanny pack

I have always used a fanny pack but this year I found it very awkward getting on rides. I just bought a Vera Bradley Mini-Hipster and I love it. It is so compact and so lightweight. I am using it all the time now as my purse. It holds my camera, cellphone, checkbook, cards etc....will be perfect when I go to flea markets and of course for DISNEY!!!!!!

I use string backpacks. They are very light and not very heavy. love to use those. Especially with that heat!

I have the large Vera Bradley hipster and love it. First off its a light weight purse to begin with and it have lots of room. I can even fit a 16oz water in it. Is is comfy to where cross body style.

This is what I use as well. Works great!!

I am so excited to use my Thirty-One organizing shoulder bag. It is long enough to go cross body, hold essentials for baby, water bottle, camera, etc. the string backpacks are also lightweight and nice for the parks.

I bought a brand new baggalini messenger bag I know I will probably wish I didn't have something to lug but we are pack rats and newbies lol.

I recently bought an ebags Terrace Mini and will be using that as my park bag this Fall. It's lightweight and has lots of pockets for organization. It's also small enough (5.5"x7") that I can easily put it in our backpack if I don't want to carry it.

I just got one of these, lovely little bag. If you need more than what it holds, you are carrying too much.

My challenge - I go to WDW in December and stay in the parks all day and into the cold night. I have had to use a small backpack to carry long pants for when it gets too cold for shorts and a fleece jacket. To make them take up less room in the backpack, I squeeze them into a spacesaver bag!

Still lovin' my fanny pack! If I need to take a poncho or warmer clothes along, I just rent a locker for the day and not have to carry it!

For small stuff I've used a leg wallet for years (backpacking across Europe - room keys - etc) for larger things a leg holster bag works and looks kind of cool

This is more my style! I don't like to have to hold or carry anything if I can help it. What brand do you use?

I also use a lanyard with a clear plastic holder for my Annual Pass, Fastpasses and money.

Does that bounce around on you during rides or feel pretty clunky when you're walking around? Some of them seem so large!

this trip I will be using a spi-belt. I can fit my iphone and my id/room key/credit cards in it and hide it under my shirt around my waist. It's AMAZING! :woohoo:

It looks so tiny, but not quite small enough to hide under my clothes, is there a specific type that you get?

I'm curious about the crossbodies and the mini bag users: do you have to take those on and off when you get in the rides?

Cargo shorts and I carry the bare necessities. It is very liberating to not be tied down to carrying a bag of any kind all day.

I switched from a fanny pack to a lightweight string backpack and downsized all the clutter I used to take. Packing in ziplocs and small bags (one for ID/cc/money, another for bandaids, lotions, etc. I don't even notice its there:thumbsup2I try to take one with a local logo--one year it was Cubs and another year DD's college. Both were conversation starters

We use a Maxpedition bag, I think ours is the jumbo. We love it! There's so much room, yet many compartments that work great. It is messenger type with the cross body strap, but it also has a thin strap that you can use to secure it to your hip as well, or you can remove it. I got mine cheap from walmart.com, even cheaper than the ebags website. We take our Maxpedition bag everywhere with us (this weekend it will be going with us to the Bronx Zoo).

I use a Vera mini hipster. It's small and doesn't hold more than I need. The regular hipsters are too big for me.

cross body bag. I use one in my everyday life so it's comfortable to me.

The one I have been using lately for the parks is an ebags piazza. I love it. It has a pocket on the side for a water bottle too.
I used to take a smaller version but I couldn't fit a disney rain poncho in it. So while I did love the smaller one, the bigger one works better for me now.
