We are scheduled to go to Universal in September and plan on visiting for a whole day on Thursday the 17th and another 1/2 day on Monday. My question is do you think we can cover it all in that time since the park stays open only until 6 PM? 2nd Question, Should I go in the morning or afternoon? I currently have it schedule for the afternoon because I was able to get a character meal that I wanted that morning. There are 9 of us. 4 kids 12-17 and the rest adults.

The parks are generally slow during September but since you're going during the week, the crowds shouldn't be too bad. The one whole day shouldn't be a problem but the half day might be. It depends on what type of rides everyone likes and how much you want to see. If your group doesn't like coasters or high thrills, you might want to go to the Studios for a whole day and do IOA on the other day.

I can't help you with the character breakfast question since I've never done it. Someone else will come along and give their opinion.

::yes::::yes::

I wasn't very clear on this post. I am planning a day and a half. The half day I have a character meal scheduled in the morning and was going to spend the morning at that park and then the afternoon at Universal. Do you think it is better to go to Universal in the AM or the PM?

I don't think it would matter in September.

it really doesn't matter but that could change based on the weather you have when you are there.

if it is going to be a hot and humid day, mornings at IOA would be perfect.
then switch over to the studio side for the PM.
there are a lot more rides and attractions that are indoors on the studio side.

most of the rides at ioa are outside.

if it rains or is humid/hot in the pm, the studios side would be great for you and your group.

like metro said, crowds are not heavy at all in september and the weekdays are better for less crowds during the week.

more people start to come into the park around 11ish during the day.

Thanks! Do they ever have later hours in September? That would be great!!

check the park calendar on the UO website for the hours.
september is up for both parks.

september is low season.
no late hours in the month.
