She envies you in her own petty way and feels if she "ups" you she's acheived something significant!
I like the one post about how you should tell her how you waited for the best deal....OMG that would really bite her butt to know not only do you have the same van but you got yours for a way better price, you would think that would knock her off her pedestal for a while!

So... next time you plan to get something... feed her misinformation.
I've done this!!
My sister and neice are like this(and honestly I do love them and their weirdness, its just really aggravating when people do this!)...
Every year at Christmas my 4 kids would say what they would like and my niece(only child) would want it all plus it had to be a better one than what my kids were getting. So DS would rush out and buy it all plus all the accessories/variations/ colors that may be available of the same thing just to have it better!
The one year I told my neice, "All our kids want is a karaoke machine with country music"(BTW we're not country music fans so this should have struck her as odd but when greed gets in the way.....)
Well, what do you know she starts telling everyone that the only thing she is really wants is a big fancy karaoke machine for Christmas!
I couldn't have this happen so I ended up 'fessing to her that I was kidding! Poor thing, ended up getting the usual 100 presents instead of just one! At least I didn't have to live with the guilt of lying to her (or sound of country music all Christmas day!)
