What do you think of this year's Mother's Day/Father's Day pins?

Anyone else disappointed in this year's Mother's Day/Father's Day pins? There are so many tender moments between parent and child in Disney movies...why are they releasing pins such as Goofy with a giant sandwich (nice as a Goofy pin, but why Father's Day?) and Cinderella's evil stepfamily (nice pin for Cinderella collectors, but for Mother's Day a celebration of people who were so awful to our heroine?)?

Some scenes that I would love to see on Mother's/Father's Day pins:

Ariel and King Triton as he gives his blessing to marry Eric (one of my all time favorite movie scenes)

Mr Banks, Jane and Michael flying a kite

Mrs. Potts and Chip ( I know, DL had one in 2001, but you can never have too many Mrs Potts pins :D)

parent and baby pegasus from Fantasia

Pinocchio and Blue Fairy (not his mother, but a mother figure)

I like to collect pins that commemorate holidays, and I have the Mother's Day/Father's Day pins from the last few years. In my opinion, this year's Mother's Day/Father's Day pins are mediocre. I will not include them in my 2003 pin book.

What do you think?

Leslie, I don't follow these so I'm not sure but didn't they have a Belle with Maurice pin this year? I thought you would like that one.

There is a Belle and Maurice.. and that one is great! (Beg Beg Beg.. ) :)

Yes, there is a Belle and Maurice pin which I am very excited about! Just commenting in general about the others....

I agree, Leslie. This was not the best crop.

However, when I saw the Cinderella Step-family pin, I laughed hysterically! I guess if you give that to a mom, it says something special about her success as a mother!  ;)

Yeah -- Nothing says Happy Fathers Day like Goofy carrying a Dagwood sandwich while licking his lips, and unknowingly a half step away from slipping on a banana peel ! :jester: ;)
