What do you think of this prom dress?

coming from the mom's side. the black and white one will look classier to mom. my dd wore one similar her junior year-looked great. she chose it.
the red one is gorgeous. i think it depends on your coloring, etc, but i think you should wear the one you like best unless there's a big cost issue or something. if there is, mom needs to speak up and be honest about it.

I REEEAALLLY like the first one.
Personlly, I'm not one for bold colours (such as red) but that's my opinion.
I like to keep it simple.
I really like the first one. ALOT. :goodvibes
I hope you like it too.
The red one is pretty too, but in comparison I like the first one much better.

Our prom theme is Hollywood too!! hahaha.
How original eh?!

I got my dress this past weekend;

what do you guys think?

front.

i really like it, it's very "me"
do you guys think it's approriate for someone my age? or does it look too "old?"

Personally I LOVE the shape of your dress. I think it's beautiful and you look lovely in it. However, I don't like the whole black-lace-over-white thing it's got going on. I think it could do with being all one color. I think the pattern thing makes it look a bit too old for you. But you do look beautiful in the cut of the dress :goodvibes

My DD tried that dress on this weekend. It's so pretty. She didn't fit into it so she picked another one but I love it. I think that it looks great.

I like the top one (if it´s in black & white) but I LOVE the red one. Go with the one YOU like the most on YOU.

But, I have two words for you - "Magic Panties." OK, that's not the brand name, but go to Victoria's Secret and get the control top panties they sell. .

Girl, with either of those dresses and a pair of Magic Panties, you will rule the prom...

Simba - they have something like this at Torrid at the Robinson Mall too - I can't remember if that store is too big for you - it might be....but the "underarmour" is crucial for comfort in a fitted dress!

Haven't read all the replies but I don't understand why your mom would pick out and buy your prom dress. Well, I get the "buy" part, but it's YOUR prom, she is not supposed to pick your dress. YOU are.
I like the red one--the other one looks flimsy and not well-made, no offense to your mom. The cut is nice but the material does not look good.

My mom and grandma love this prom dress so my mom bought it for me. I won't say my opinion. I did find another dress (it was red) that I LOVED and a friend of mine and her mom LOVED (I tried it on for the first time with them). Then I went back and showed my mom and she said it was OK, but she LOVED the one she bought. So I just said "Fine, the black ones fine. We'll just go with that one." My mom still loves this dress and thinks it looks amazing on me. This is the dress we bought, but it is black where the blue is and white where the black is. I want some honest opinions please! (Our theme is Hollywood/Club (Hollywood outside and for promenade and club inside, from what I've heard. And based on the details I've heard, I'm really not excited AT ALL, but thats a whole other story).

Here's the red one since someone asked. Honestly, this picture does not do it justice. It looks much better on, but at least you can somewhat get the idea.

I love your prom dress. I think its very elegant.

Well, in my opinion the top one is nice but boring. I LOVE the red one.

But I am a person who loves sparkles and bright things. I must be part magpie.

how about a hairstyle similar to the one nicole kidman has here?

something along those lines with a nice smokey eye makeup would look knock-out fabuous with that dress

DramaQueen: I like your dress! Its different (at least from everything I've seen) and it seems like something that noone else will have! I'm not thrilled with the whole theme (is there anything I'm too thrilled about for prom?), but its looking like that will be the best part. LOL. Except for after afterprom of course!

MsLeFever: Thanks for the tip! My mom has something I'm going to try, but if that doesn't work, maybe I'll go check it out. I've never been in there so I don't know if its too big for me or not.

alliecats: Short version of the story is I went and tried it on along with several other dresses. When I put that one on, she was like "Ohmygosh! I love it" I took it off and tried on another one and she took that black one. When I came out she said "We'll get it and have them call the other store and see if they have it" After they found out that they didn't have the size I needed, I asked why we were getting it if it didn't fit. She came up with some excuse and I forget what it was. So I was like whatever and we got it. She didn't really ask if I wanted it, it was more like "I love it! There is no other dress that would be this good! We're getting it.", even though the entire day she was telling me to be open minded even though I already ahd my heart set on the red one. Then we went to David's Bridal for the red one and found it it was all sales final. So the whole time she kept saying she loved the black dress, it looked so good, blah blah blah. She wanted to bring the black dress so I could try them on together. By this point I was like fine, whatever, I'll just keep the black dress, its fine. So we left and everytime she sees the black one in my closet she makes a comment about how much she loves it and blah blah blah but also says something about she can tell I don't love it and we'll just bring it back and get the red one. I just say "Mom, its 2 weeks till prom, do you really think we can get that one altered and all that by then? The black ones fine." OK, that wasn't quite the short story I had hoped for, but whatever.

XOoOoVEEoOoOX: Oooo! I like that! Its fun and would be out of the way!
