what do you think of this price

Hi all

I am getting way ahead of myself here but I am looking at my May 2012 trip

We have already booked a 7 night Cruise aboard the Fantasy  and we want to combine this with a 7 night stay at POR

For flights and 7 nights VH are quoting £2279 (£1139 pp)

With car they are quoting £2589 which is £310 more but the car would be for the full 14 nights which I know seems mad but we would be staying at the Port the night before the cruise at one of the hotels that gives you free parking for the duration of your cruise so I thought this might be a better option that trying to make our own arrangements to the ship, back to WDW and then picking a car up (maybe not :confused3)

Looking at this years flight and hotel prices (which will no doubt increase). If I estimate £550 - £600 pp for flights and POR for 7 nights is £700 so that would work out to approx. £900 - £950 each (around £189 cheaper per person)

So based on this years prices DIY would be cheaper but I am concerned that flight prices and rooms will increase

Am I just being impatient - should I hold on?

I would wait myself but I prefer DIY. Will probably cost you a few hundred more with VH but if you are impatient its the price you have to pay.

What size car for £310?
Have you looked at 2 one way rentals?
Just checked USrentacar Economy car.
1 week from MCO to Budget office at PC (free shuttle to ship) £117
2 nights after cruise(least you can do with this company) £54 or add tank of gas for another £8.

1st company I checked, could be cheaper elsewhere.

Thanks Wayne :thumbsup2

The car would be through Virgin/Alamo - a C4 grade with fully inclusive insurance

We are doing the cruise first then WDW so not sure how we would work the two one way rentals

I also wonder if the full Virgin brochure released in April may have a few more special offers in, perhaps even free dining

When we go out in October we are thinking of trying to use our 14 day Ultimate Tickets towards an AP which would then cover us for our return trip in May 12 as I think that could work out cheaper than buying another set of tickets for May but I guess that would rule out free dining anyway :confused3
