What do you think of The Garden Grill

My dh and I ate there for the first time this past Feb. We loved it. Believe me we will eat there this coming Feb also.

Thought the food was just like School Cafeteria Lunch Room food. Yuck!
The weirdest thing was how they got the Fried Catfish to taste like
Chicken Fried Steak? We'll never eat there again!!

Good analogy. Same exact feeling for us. A shame too because the restaurant itself is pretty cool with the whole rotating thing. And the characters are nice for the kids. Still, the food was practically inedible. When we left the dishes were nearly intact. we all took about two bites and looked at each other. As soon as the last character left we bolted.

Love this place, would not dare go to WDW and bypass this place. This will be our first character meal when we arrive. I have ate at this place since I was a child. The atmosphere is great. The last time we were there was in 2003 for supper and the food was very good. We are going for lunch this time in November, so we will see. I mean compare it to the lunch or supper menu at CRT there is nothing on that menu that I would eat nor would my kids. I think it is a matter of opinion.

I've been twice and love it! The last time the server was pretty bad, but we still enjoyed it. I've got it set for next trip. We do the ride first and then eat. I've been in top tier and lower and have been happy with both. I don't think I got strawberry shortcake last time and that was a little upsetting.

We enjoyed the food and the characters. The scenery was nice, since it always changed. It's not a "must do every time" for us, but we'll eat at the Garden Grill again within the next few trips.

Last June we went for lunch and the food was awesome. It did come all on one big plate and the kids came on a separate big plate. We like everything but catfish, so no big deal. I thought the food was very good and loved the fresh veggies (mini squash, carrots, green beans). Dessert was berry souffle for adults and make your own cupcake for the kids. The character interaction was awesome and my dd called Chip Dale and Pluto wrote a note to me about it :).
Sidenote, I'm from the Carolinas too, but am a rare one in my family who doesn't drink sweet tea, but I can make it really good in a milk jug :).
