What do you think of The Garden Grill

Does anyone know if the Garden Grill has only booths for tables? I am rather large and don't think I'd fit behind a booth.

Don't worry. I am rather large too and had no problems. Lets not get into this though, I just ran away from a thread asking what size I am and how much I weigh.

Mediorcre food. Excellent dessert. Great character interaction. Good once, but probably not on our repeat list.

I really enjoyed the Garden Grill. Service was good, food was fine but the character interaction was fantastic. We went for a late lunch and the characters spent so much time with all the tables, it was great.

The only thing my family enjoyed here was the dessert. Check out the menu though to see if you like the kind of food first.

Love it. We got the adult food and the kids food even though we were a party of adults. Our server was fantastic, the character interaction was fantastic, and the food was fantastic. Going again in November :goodvibes

:lmao: Sweet Tea, the best non alcoholic beverage on Planet Earth! Ever tried it made the right way?

Duh, wait....you are the other Carolina girl. Aubriee was from Texas. Most of the South is given sweet tea in their baby bottle so of course you've had it. :)

Hey excuse me! Texas is a southern state also and we love our 'sweet tea'. Sweet tea was one of the first things my grandma taught me to 'cook'. (bring water to a boil, add two family size tea bags, let boil for a few minutes, remove from heat, cover and let steep for a few minutes, pour hot tea into a gallon pitcher, add one cup of sugar, stir until sugar is dissolved, then add cold water and refridgerate.) We always have sweet tea in the fridge, as do both my D-I-L's. It's one of those things you get up in the morning and brew to have in the fridge to drink on all day. I'm from a fairly small town and most of the restaurants around here have two containers of tea to choose from 'sweet' and 'unsweet'. Their 'sweet' tea is also the REAL stuff.

A big salad, fried catfish, hot hush puppies, corn on the cob, 'real' home fries, fresh green tomato relish, hot peach cobbler, homemade vanilla ice cream, and sweet tea. Sweet nectar, my dear, sweet nectar. Hmm, I need to go digging in my freezer for supper tonight:idea:  .

:(

We went to the Garden Grill in 2006, and I would have to say that I would never eat there again. The atmosphere was great, but the food was disgusting. We went at dinner time and waiting 20 minutes to get in which I thought was great for not having reservations. The boys loved seeing the characters, but my boys wouldn't eat the food. The fries were cold, the mac and cheese was the same, and I don't know what the heck was on the adult plates. The price was not worth it.

Southern yes, but not Carolina. She made the reference to "another Carolina girl". I was confused for a second too.
The other poster thought it was funny how another "Carolina" girl was telling another Southerner how the tea was made at GG.

You'll like it! It's the good kind! Now if the rest of WDW will discover this recipe we'll all be in good shape! :yay:

 When I read these boards and see complaints about a restaurant it's usually because the food was cold, dry, sogggy, or not prepared correctly. If this is the case, why don't you ask for more food!!!???

Servers don't normally stick their fingers down in your food to check it's temperature. If something isn't right, especially at WDW, ask for it to be corrected!

If you are at GG and you want your steak well done and your friend wants theirs rare it's okay! They don't have a problem with that. If your fries are cold ask for new ones. They'll bring you new ones that are hot. If the fish needs to be crispier, tell them! About half the time I have to get a fresh batch of catfish. If it sits around even for a couple of minutes it gets a little mushy. DH likes it just find but mine needs to be crispy. They've never had a problem with making the food the way we like it.

Next time, no matter where you're eating, if something isn't right...in a friendly way ask for another plate or item. 99% of the time they're happy to make it right.

I know that it works for others but we prefer to pass. We are not big fans of the "everything on one plate", family style meals.

Ditto. This is probably our least favorite character meal. The one and only time we were there the characters seemed in a rush to move on and flirt with the girls at the next table. I also have to say the food was borderline disgusting. Everything mashed together on one plate was very unappetizing. Seems like we are in the minority on this thread but I doubt we will ever go back. Just one opinion...

Weird...When we went it was served family-style but everything did not come on one plate...Different plates and bowls had different foods...It was served like at LTT...Lots of small bowls and platters with food...Nothing was mashed together :confused3

I have eaten here for lunch and dinner --- at lunch time all the food was mashed together on one plate (which was a problem because i am highly allergic to mushrooms and were unaware all the food would be touching on the same plate) and dinner it was all in separate "Buckets" served family style

when we did dinner we really enjoyed it --- lunch we vowed to never do again.

Thought the food was just like School Cafeteria Lunch Room food. Yuck!
The weirdest thing was how they got the Fried Catfish to taste like
Chicken Fried Steak? We'll never eat there again!!

has anyone dined there solo or solo adult and one child? can you get 1 adult and 1 kid? i am thinking about hitting this up on friday when it is just me and my daughter.
