What do you think of the "drinking" t-shirts that people wear at Epcot?

So the "I Live in Fantasyland" shirts are out too, since like, if I have a clue, I should know that's not true. Can I still clap for Tinkerbell or are we too old for that?

Well, if you like, have a clue, you should be able to figure out what YOU are to old for.

Very tacky and doesn't represent what Epcot was supposed to be about, but that's what Disney have created themselves and I see no effort for them to back off of that.

Unfortunately people do take the drinking around the world thing too far and it becomes a hostile environment where the poor CM's don't have an official way to tell someone they've already reached their limit. Plus a lot of these people are locals who potentially DRIVE home. Unlike being in a bar situation where you can potentially stop someone who's already had too many drinks, these people just go from kiosk to kiosk.

Doesn't bother me in the least probably since I'm still giggling over the 20 somethings wandering in a pack at Epcot wearing matching "onsies", drinks in hand.

PS- never seen the fall down drunks others have at WDW. Maybe I take "the not my business" stance learned in NYC on vacation too where we don't gush over celebrities in the streets either. Oh but I do give side ways looks to large children in strollers.
Oh well. Nobody's perfect.

Speaking only for me, I was not coming at it in regards to how it may affect children. I do not think it would scar them and I don't think it's all that big of a deal. I, personally, do not really like anything that holds up excessive drinking as a source of pride or accomplishment. I understand "excessive" may be relative, but staggering, slurring, bloodshot eyes, etc. - those visible queues of drunkenness like you might see on one of these t-shirts - is about where it is I think.

I have seen lots of alcohol themed shirts at Disney, but none with any of these types of imagery.

I do agree with you about not finding excessive drinking as a source of pride or accomplishment. I usually assume people who do so are immature and trying to hard to make everyone else think they are "cool." What I don't agree with is the assumption by some Disers that any shirt (and the person wearing one) with any reference to alcohol is promoting excessive drinking. My husband and I really enjoy craft beer and even plan trips around visiting breweries, but we never "get drunk." Even if we decided to wear beer-themed shirts at Epcot, we would still stick to our two drink maximum.

I would not wear one as I don't drink, but I have no issues with others wearing them. People go to disney for all sorts of reasons, family vaca, reunions, weddings, bachelor/bachelorette party, celebrate a medical victory, baby moons, birthdays etc. It's not just a place for parents with small kids. If Disney didn't want people drinking, they would not sell alcohol.

I do think Epcot has shifted to kind of endorse the drinking behavior though. On our last trip I noticed many people walking around with drinks, visibly tipsy, drinking shirts, bachelorette groups etc. Most seemed tame and the shirts were of the "I'm the bride" or "I'm in the bridal party" type shirts. Nothing to crazy, nobody passed out in the bushes. LOL.

I don’t wear shirts with designs like that but i don’t find them offensive or anything. I love seeing super clever ones and will sometimes say something to the person if it’s a situation where I wouldn’t come across as crazy. Hahaha!

There are shirt's I've seen with a "dunk Mickey" on them which is what I am picturing. I actually don't know that they are that common but I've seen a couple like that. They are definitely available form somewhere.

I can't speak for other DISers, only myself - wearing the shirt is not necessarily a reflection of one's behavior, but I still find it a bit tacky to glorify excessive drinking regardless.

I have no problem with the t-shirts. If the kids are too young to understand what they mean and have to ask you, tell them whatever you want. If the kids are old enough to read and understand they understand the humor. I assure you they are exposed to much more at school.

I know that the International Food and Wine Festival is going on now at Epcot and I know that many, many guests enjoy drinking throughout the World Showcase. I understand all that and I have no problem with it. What I AM finding cringe-worthy are the various t-shirts with drinking slogans that seem to be all over Epcot. I've seen many large groups all wearing t-shirts with matching slogans.

I've noticed these shirts more this year than in previous years, so I'm wondering if the trend is growing. We are annual passholders, so go frequently to the Parks, and I'm seeing more and more guests wearing t-shirts with slogans like the following:

I'm trashed (with a picture of Forky flat out on the ground)
Mickey Bar (with a picture of various types of alcoholic beverages lined up)
Drunk Story (picture from Toy Story)
Drinkerbelle (with a pic of, you guessed it, Tinkerbelle)
Walt Whiskey (can't remember what the accompanying pic was)

I know the shirts are meant to be humorous, but I find them a bit embarrassing and awkward, especially when you have a young child/grandchild with the ability to read the shirts and then ask what they mean.

Does anyone else find these t-shirts cringe-worthy? I wonder what Walt Disney would think of seeing the Walt Whiskey t-shirt. Not very family-friendly!

There are some drinking shirts that are decently tasteful, but for the most part, things like
Bibbity Bobbity Boozed or Off with their corks are tacky.

However, if someone is there to get drunk, they've already made the decision to ignore their own tackiness for the day.

Off topic, but what about "I Pooped Today" t-shirts. I've seen them for sale for quite a long time at a kiosk in the mall, and I've seen 1 or 2 people actually wearing them. What's up with that?!

I bought my DH one of those shirts for Christmas a few years ago and he proudly wears it in public. Maybe you didn't today and that's why it bothers you?

People can wear whatever they want but the general bragging about drinking culture is a little weird to me. Yeah, most adults drink alcohol, it's not unique. I thought people got out of that phase in college, but doesn't seem to be the case.

He only allowed drinking at the private club and at the bar at the Disneyland hotel stop. On certain occasions, like opening day, he had bars in back stage areas for the press and VIPS. So obviously he did not want a carnie atmosphere in the parks but was not opposed to drinking in general. Given that, I don't think he'd want drinking around the world.

I think wearing a cotton t shirt in FL is incredibly uncomfortable no matter what it says. The same goes for jeans. Better to dress for the climate than wear hideous t shirts. And graphic tees are really for kids anyway.

Doesn’t bother me what someone else chooses to put on their tee shirt. There are lots of tee shirts everywhere, including at school, that are ‘questionable’ and kids get to see them. I have at least one Epcot drinking shirt- but it doesn’t mean I get drunk at Epcot nor did I purchase the shirt for attention. It’s about me/us and what we wanted to wear as a family/group on our vacation, that we paid for, and planned to fully enjoy in our Disney-family style.
