What do you think of Stouffer's Lasagna?

I think Stouffers is appropriate to use for a church function. If you have Gordon Food Service near you, their lasagna is good as well and a bit cheaper too. We did our own rehearsal dinner when we got married and used the GFS lasagna, a big bagged salad from them as well as rolls from there and we spent very little money.

They had party-sized lasagna at Wal-Mart for $8.99 and I purchased two. We had a potluck dinner at my school, and it was the first thing to go.

I think it taste fine. I love homemade too, however.

I am a huge Costco fan and like nearly everything I have ever gotten there.....except the frozen lasagna. We did not like that brand at all.

I think a frozen lasagna is fine for what you want it for. For something like this, its not about the food, but the fellowship. And since you are feeding teens, they will eat it so fast, they won't realize what it was!

I am in charge of a church dinner for 25 people that has a planned menu. So far I am having trouble getting people to donate the main dish lasagna or baked ziti. I think it's easy to make, but I guess others don't. Someone mentioned to me to get the meat or veg. lasagna from Stouffer's, but how does it taste?

We buy it and enjoy it.

You could make it in a crock pot. We have it for Christmas Eve and it so easy.

I really don't like the Stouffers lasagna and mac and cheese. I always feel bad because I am a vegetarian and my grandma buys this for family meals for me. I don't expect anyone to accomodate my choice of diet AT ALL. I am more than happy to eat vegetable sides or what not. I cringe every time she makes these because it is sweet that she wants to make something special, but I would rather pass altogether. I choke it down to be gracious but I really don't like these meals. I honestly would prefer just plain pasta with sauce or even butter. It just tastes so processed and the noodles are overcooked.

I like it ok but my husband doesn't. If you do go with frozen plan on baking it about 15 mins longer than the package says or it will be runny. You also have to allow time for it to "sit up" and thicken before you cut it.

Ever since I realized you could cook lasagna without boiling the noodles I just make it myself. Ziti is super easy too but you do have to cook the ziti before assembling...

Our family likes it. OP, I've been in similar situations volunteering for school and church functions. I'd not hesitate to do whatever causes you the least stress and worry. You'll have enough on your hands if you're in charge of the event itself.

I can't stand Stouffers lasagna. You can make it from scratch for much cheaper than the boxed nasty kind. I use the pre cooked lasagna noodles like Bertolli. You can also very the ingredients you use. I just made an eggplant lasagna the other night. I have also made different variations like a Mexican lasagna. My family hates it, but then they will not eat anything that is frozen like that. (My aunt makes this often and invites everyone. MY daughter will ask for a pnut butter sandwich) However for this, I would serve it, cause some people do like it.

We used to get a large frozen lasagna from Costco for an annual potluck dinner with 4H. It was bigger and tasted better than the Stouffers. We haven't done that for a few years, now, so I don't know if Costco still sells them. I think you are on the right track with going with a frozen lasagna for a large group.

The Costco ones (Kirkland) taste really good. People thought it was homemade when we served them for my daughter's birthday!

Sams Club sells the MACORONI GRILL Lasagna that we LOVE! It tastes homemade

Our walmart deli has a lasagna that is way better than Stouffer's. I love Italian foods but I don't really like Stouffer's lasagna.

If you just need to get some quick easy food into hungry teens, it is ok. Just ok but ok. I keep one in my freezer for a last resort dinner but would not serve it as a meal to a group other than hungry teens.

My family really likes it and they are pretty inexpensive at the wholesale clubs. But, I would have to agree that a homemade baked ziti would probably be cheaper, easier, and tastier.

I can't stand any frozen lasagna. It's easy to make from scratch, and it is cheaper, too. Then again, I am from a very Italian neighborhood in Brooklyn where frozen and canned food is sacrilegious...
